COTR wrote:What your saying is what the Madrid press dubbed 'Torrespendencia' - an over-dependence on the player. The four strikers you've got are completely different types of player. Torres is the type of player you'd use away when you expect to be playing on the counter, whereas IMO Crouch and Kuyt will be used at Anfield when you have alot of the possession and will be using the wingers to open defnces.
I'm sorry but I see no reason why this is true
It is the excuse rafa used at the weekend and he was made to look stupid when torres came on and was far more effective than any of the other players
torres can create a bit of magic out of nothing, something the other forwards cannot do. It is this unpredictability that will help us open up defences at home. Kuyt running around the pitch is not going to help our cause much

Does Rafa strike as a manager who leaves tactics to the last minute?
If you play your strongest line-up every game your team will start playing $h!t when you lose a couple of first-team players. Look at how rubbish Man U were when they had to bring the likes of O'Shea, Fletcher and Richardson into the squad.

too thorough in the epl, his approach in europe is spot on, but someties just like man ure you just need to send the team out to win and not worry too much about the oppositionFootball Genius wrote:Rafa is possibly one of the most thorough if not too thorough tacticians in the game.

Oh I'm sorry, were you comparing Babel to Cesc?
Rez wrote:I think another issue that hasnt been mentioned is that Rafa doesnt seem to like strikers and doesnt know how to get the best out of them. Strikers never do well under the Rafa, he rotates them around even during hot goal scoring streaks.
He makes the excuse about rotating forwards due to the way the opposition play, but very rarely (never?) rotates the defenders based on the opposition. He seems to trust and like defenders probably because he is a controlling and pragmatic manager. Defenders play exactly the way he wants them to in his systems, but forwards find themselves suffocated in his systems as they need freedom to function effectively.

If we do win the league Tweeds, there is good sig material there, reminds of the 'you'll never win anything with kids' statement

You may well win the league, but Babel won't have played an integral part in it.
He's now got 9 league goals in 3 seasons.

That's more than Walcott. And as Fabregas has shown, you can go from not being able to hit a cow's arse to being prolific. Trust me Tweeds, Babel will only get better and better. I have no proof of this, but it's a logic you must recognise...

Returning to the original point that I made saints, which I've already done once, I've acknowledged that he'll improve with time, my point was that Liverpool needed to buy top class now - which they didn't. They bought a very good player and a potential top class player.
Unless you're claiming that by the end of this season he'll be regarded as a top class winger, something I highly doubt

Missed the point again. I never said that they won't win the league, although if they continue to rotate the way they have, Rafa will make it difficult.
What I said is that Babel isn't a top class winger and that if I were a Pool fan its something that I'd want addressing.
