Missed the point again. I never said that they won't win the league, although if they continue to rotate the way they have, Rafa will make it difficult.

What I said is that Babel isn't a top class winger and that if I were a Pool fan its something that I'd want addressing.

Tweeds, on the second page of this fucking thread wrote:The issue I raised was that to win the league THIS season, Liverpool desperately needed a top class winger.

    Pwned. Go home.

They did need a top class winger to win the league this season scratch

Instead they got a potential top class winger and Benayoun.

And when I said that they could win the league, so could Man City....

Stop equivocating. You said that if they were to win the league this season they needed a top class winger, and that they hadn't signed one. You may not have explicitly said 'they won't win the league this season', but it's the logical conclusion from what you did explicitly say.

Maybe Kas should start a poll.

Ok, come next May, when they haven't won the league I'll be blaming their rotation policy and their lack of a top class winger ok Wink

the problem is we have too many players

three good centre midfielders with lucas as back up would be perfect

three good centre forwards with a young up and coming player as back up would be perfect

instead rafa has four excellent players centre midfield and up front and these are the positions he mostly rotates because he feels he has to keep everyone happy

he should cut down on the squad

    Why?

3 centre midfielders - Gerrard, Alonso, Mascherano + Lucas as backup

Crouch is definitely 4th choice at the moment but a more mobile youngster would not be a bad option (particularly if we can get £10-£12m for the big man)

However we could definitely do with more wingers, whatever Rafa thinks - currently we have Kewell, Babel, Pennant, Benayoun, with Riise as left-side backup - and more cover at CB.

There is nothing wrong with rotating players. My only problem with Rafa's rotation is he rotates his very best and most important players.

I mentioned the other day that Ramos at sevilla rotates more than Rafa, but he hardly ever rotates his 2 main players( Alves & Kanoute) except if there is an important euro match coming up and his team is playing a lowly classed la liga team then he'd rest kanoute but Alves always play when fit.

Rafa should do the same. Gerrard, Torres and maybe carra should always play. other players like crouch , babel, pennant, benayoun, alonso etc can all be rotated and he'll always have a fresh squad to pick from.
