I haven't said that the rest of the team played poorly, we were speaking only about Steven Gerrard.

Besides, I thought Gerrard was the one who was supposed to be able to take the game by the scruff of the neck. If he can take nearly all the credit for the 2nd half (which he does) then he can take nearly all the blame for the 1st half.

You implied that it was Rafa's decision not to start Hamann which caused Gerrard to have a very bad half. That may be partly true, but he was woeful in his supposed 'best position'.

I think and with no defensive midfielder on a player of kaka's quality there were always going to be problems. this is no reflection on gerrard, purely that rafa got his tactics wrong. it happens all over the world in matches every week. great players are outplayed and managers bring players on to change the tactics to try to change a game that is going against them

Milan's midfield was better than yours but no-one was picking up their markers (most notably Gerrard on Kaka). When Hamann came on, he did all the defensive work and allowed the others to play (similar to Makelele's role for Real Madrid).

Because Rafa is a little bit clueless? I think so. He's always been a fantastic defensive coach, but his Liverpool team's never really been very competent in attack.

he had some poor strikers at valencia too they were a renowned 1-0 team

arsenal are in a no win situation on here this weekend
