I don't think it's that fair to suggest that Ibra or Inter have to prove something in the second leg. Just as nobody would really doubt Man Utd or Arsenal's quality or validity were they to go out of the Champions League this round, it's unfair to judge Inter only on their Champions League performances. For what it is worth, I thought they were unfortunate last year to go out on away goals to Valencia, after dominating the first leg. And I thought Ibra had a decent game today - I agree that Stankovic had a hugely disappointing game, and as Shaz says, Cambiasso didn't bring the ball forward at all - I agree that Vieira was better at that when he came on, but he was also more clumsy in defence and his passing was awful. I thought he extremely overhit the mentioned pass to Ibra, whilst he was slow on the ball and underhit another pass with Ibra in a good attacking position down Inter's right.
Anyway, I think Inter are a very good team and that Ibra is a marvellous player. But I think there is a point that, outside of Serie A, when games are perhaps more fast paced and physical, Inter sometimes lack players with the pace to threaten. Of their more attacking players, none of Stankovic, Figo, Zanetti when he plays on the wings, Cruz, Crespo, are that quick. Which is obviously where Suazo can come in useful. But I guess it's debatable whether or not to play him in a second leg where Liverpool are going to be sitting deep, and where Crespo might be a better bet for finding space and finishing moves.
