I think we will play the same team, but Diaby instead of Rosicky, or maybe even Gilberto. If Wenger wants to be adventurous (he almost certainly won't) he might play Walcott from the start, but that would have to be a 4-4-2 because neither him or Eboue will play well on the left.

Re: AC Milan vs. Arsenal Discussion Thread
Not without Seedorf. If Rosicky or Van Persie or Toure were fit I would very confident of winning. A it is, I see both teams lacking creativity unless Hleb pays like he did vs Villa away. No Seedorf will change the complexion of the game. Milan don't have even a competent creative midfielder to do what he does and without him the defence can fully focus on Kaka and Pato. So that's Cichy, Sederos, Gallas and Sagna vs Pato + Kaka. Best thing to do would be having Clichy Man Mark Pato and the rest play 351.EMPortuguese wrote:Pato/Kaka to run your defence raggedRosicky wrote:Team will be:

Re: AC Milan vs. Arsenal Discussion Thread
I think Wenger will play Diaby on the left so that Hleb can play in the middle behind the striker where he prefers, and just as importantly, where he can harrass Pirlo when they have the ball. Milan didn't offer much width at the Emirates, so it probably won't matter as much if we play a left midfielder who tucks inside all the time.

Re: AC Milan vs. Arsenal Discussion Thread
Yeah also think hleb will play behind ade. That's also where he operates the best and an in form hleb will cause serious problems to milan.
Want to see Denilson instead of diaby because he passes better( don't want us to be giving the ball away) and defends far better than diaby does, but then he doesn't have diaby's dribbling ability, so it's up to Arsene to decide who to start.
Anyway, i just hope we don't take our domestic form to the San Siro. We should go with same determination and focus as we did when played madrid away in 2006.

No Seedorf is a huge blow, there's no natural replacement for him. I think Ancelotti may well be forced to play a 4-3-1-2:
---------Pato Inzaghi
------------Kaka
--Ambrosini Pirlo Gattuso
Maldini Kaladze Nesta Oddo
------------Kalac

Ancelotti will definitely play 2 strikers, and those are the 2.
You're correct.

Van Persie loves San Siro/Guiseppe Meazza. He was MOTM when Feyenoord beat Inter in the 2002 UEFA Cup SF overthere. If he can come on he'll win the match for Arsenal (otherwise someone else will do it).

From Lee Dixon's column:
"I thought Milan were disjointed in the first leg and their young Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato looked like he had been picked out of the stands and plonked up front because they were a man short."
Honestly, not entirely sure what he's on about but i wish our 18 year old forward played like Pato.

It's not Pato that Arsenal should be worried about, but Inzaghi. He is very good at capitalising even half chances & could be lethal if he is allowed some good service from Pirlo & Kaka

starting to get excited now
i think the possibility of extra time and pens is quite likely. really wouldnt be surprised if it was 0-0 after 90mins.

Hope it starts straightaway. Expect a chessgame early on.
If we can make Pirlo & Kaka as invisible as in the first match, we're nearly there.
Don't think Pato was that bad the first leg. Thought he did well with the little opportunities he had. His problem was that his suppliers were played out of the game.

Aye, he done well. He held the ball up well, ran the flanks, worked hard. Done all that could have been expected of him really. His service was non-existent. I expect if he plays off Inzaghi tonight, he'll be in the game much more.

I'm actually expecting something like the AC Milan - Lyon game from two years ago (hopefully not the same outcome), a good open game with both sides going for it. We can hardly sit back like we probably would do if we had a slight advantage in the tie.De Guzman wrote:Hope it starts straightaway. Expect a chessgame early on.
We've looked uninspired over the last few domestic games, time to try and put it right tonight and then onto Sunday with Wigan. Get everything back on track.
Can't wait. Come on Arsenal!

Denilson??!!?!?!
I'd be tempted to start Walcott again and try and pin Milan back. Go 4-5-1 and we'll just be inviting Milan to take control like Utd did last season.
