Hope they are like the games from the 1998/1999 season when we met in the group stage. <Ale>

Don't care how they are playing in the league Barca still have the players to make us suffer and its a semi final after all.

What a game this was, Van Gaal really had a good but inconsistent Barça team.

The Cole & Yorke connection + Rivaldo FK were the highlights of a truly great game.

will Barca be trying to close the gap on Real or will they rest players ahead of the United game? This could be the only real leveller, if united's players are fatigued/returning from injury while challenging for the league.

Is Messi or Dinho going to be fit for the semis?? Specially Messi. That could be the differentiating factor.

Barça play Espanyol before the 1st leg, so expect Messi to play. He has to if he stands a chance of making the 1st leg.

Ronaldinho is out for the season.

f@ck man. Blackburn and Chelsea away! Those are probably the two worst away games we have played in recent years. I hate to say it but we might have to prioritise.

Depending on Sunday, if Manchester United beat Arsenal, they will know a win against Blackburn means they are 1 more win from retaining the Premiership. So I can see SAF playing a strong team against Blackburn hopefully Vidic will be back for that game.

it probably be 4-4-2 against Blackburn then 4-3-3 against Barcelona and Chelsea.

we need Nani and Saha back quick to give us more options in attack.

Can't see Barca making it past Utd. I can't recall one top class performance from this season?

Can't think of one player in their squad who is consistently playing well, and they look incredibly low on confidence. I didn't watch much of the game tonight, but I gather Shalke had a fair few chances but were wasteful, and Barca got a lucky goal against the run of play - synonymous of much of their season.

Still, they have top talent and the return of Messi may well give them a much needed boost. How many of their players are suspended for the first leg? I know they had a fair few in danger of missing the SF's if booked today.

Assuming things go as expected, I think/expect Barca to field the following lineup:

    ------------------Valdez--------------
    Zambo---Marquez---Milito---Abidal
    ------------------Toure---------------
    -------Deco/Xavi-----Iniesta---------
    Messi------------Eto'o----------Bojan

    Subs:

    Pinto
    Thuram
    Sylvinho
    Xavi/Deco
    Guddy
    Giovani

its a tough one, but i think the difference between the sides will be c.ronaldo.

despite a good result i think that Ferguson played the wrong team in Rome, he should start with Tevez rooney and Ronnie in camp nou

great that gary neville is back, not particularly because he's good, but because of the liability wes brown is.

    van der sar
    g.neville vidic ferdinand evra
    scholes hargreaves carrick
    ronnie rooney tevez

i can see a 1-2 united win in camp nou, and a tense 1-1 draw at OT with united scoring first

Now now, lets don't get too complacent they will have their obvious dangers at the Camp Nou and it only takes a second to score a goal, the best result for Manchester United away is a 1:1 draw, as long as Manchester United get an away goal they should be confident for the 2nd leg, Barça will be without Puyol whom IMO even though hes been scrutinised by some is their leader and best defender, hope Messi does not make it ... they are still a great team with quality players such as Xavi, Iniesta & Bojan, but they are under some severe pressure.

ManU HAS to eliminate Barcelona. You guys owe us. If it wasn't for us remaining top of La Liga the whole season, the magnetic pull that unites Premiership and La Liga champions would have never worked and hence you wouldn't be top of the league right now. A ManU win would most likely mean that Barcelona would have 7 trophyless seasons out the last 9 Shocked Very Happy Madrid fans look forward to making fun of that.

It would also be a nice little audition for Cristiano if he wants to play for us next season. Schuster passed his after Getafe spanked Farca 4-0 last season, let's see if Ronaldo passes his Wink

The thing with top sides is that, irrespective of how shite their domestic season or form has been so far, they are always good for 1-2 good games at the big stage. I think Milan proved it a few times last season that you can never count a top side out based on their season so far.

ManU start as favourites, but if Barca play to the level they are capable of, these could be pretty even games. If Messi is back, I would expect Barca to raise their game.

Cristiano vs Messi, its goin to be awesome to finally see them on the field at the same time.

I would have very much preferred to have had the worst team of every round (Celtic, Shalke) play against us than getting one offside goal in 180 minutes of football against a quiality side. Admittedly, Roma's not that good but at least they aren't a UEFA Cup quality side like the last 2 teams you faced.

Looking forward to seeing Ronaldo and Rooney firing missiles at Butterfingers Valdes as well as watching Henry choke again <Ale>
