Dont think its a good move by Espanyol. He got them to the final and he had a super first half of the season. he should have more credit then that. its exactly the reason that spanish clubs arent more stable.
Perhaps Laudrup should consider Espanyol because they have a very team and their star players dont really look like they will leave.

Or actually the curse is mostly for over-achieving clubs, so it'll probably be Racing who are in trouble, esp. with Marcelino going.

But UEFA Cup is not as demanding (or as lucrative) as CL. I think Villarreal and Atletico could potentially struggle in the league, it all depends on the signings.

Well it's funny because everyone thought Laudrup was heading to Benfica and the Quique ends up there (I guess being an ex-Getafe manager was a prerequisite) so now where will he go? But I think he is looking for a bigger gig.

There was a spanish journalist who covers Getafe who wrote an article that said he was fired in fact because the president was so disapointed with the way it ended.

i doubt the story and i think it had more to do with the fact he wasnt allowed to have power of transfers that he had hoped for. same reason he left Brondby. i think he wants to stay in spain and im hearing that racing are in for him.

Racing? That would be a step down to say the least.

Surprised Valencia didn't make a last minute bid for him.

He could take a year of which wouldnt be a bad idea in order to get the right club. he has to hurry up because he says he wont manage for much more then 10 years.

And Riera (solves your left winger problem) wants to leave as well, you can have a nice big Espanyol reunion at the Camp Nou.

    Edu (Real Betis) to Villarreal?

Apprently he has turned down a contract extension and now he only has 12 months left on his existing deal.

Is Riera good enough for us ?

I've only seen him a few times and he has been excellent and probably the sort of technical player we need

I have no idea about his consistency

I saw that but first thought it was Edu from Valencia and thought it was a horrible choice. Edu from Betis is better.

He looked great in the first half of the season but suddenly Espanyol completly collapsed in the second half of the season. he showed great stuff when he was on form but hard to say if he could keep it up. if he can then he will be a good one for Liverpool. allthough i would get Capel while he has a good buy out clause.

Riera was very poor in his 1 year loan spell at Man. City, not sure why anyone would want to take a risk on him again in the Premier League. And he's nowhere near the level that Liverpool need.

Wouldn't be a bad fit actually. He likes to get to the endline and cross. Has good size, pretty good in the air, but still technically gifted. Had a poor second half of the season, but so did all of Espanyol. I hope he stays in Spain though. ok

Not a bad move by Valencia. Elmander is a very good player and he is more popular then Zlatan in sweden. he was very good in france last year.

    Quique wants Albelda at Benfica.

    Aguirre wants Marquez at Atletico.

Panathanaikos, CSKA Moscow, and Galatasaray are 3 of the clubs after Laudrup...not exactly high profile leagues, but I guess they are among the top clubs of their respective leagues, and will be playing CL next year as well, so he gets to prove himself at that level.

    1. Do they really have that kind of money?

    2. Do they really think they can force him to stay?

    3. If it's an investment, who's going to match that fee, let alone top it, to take him off them?
