So it looks like Barcelona are going to pay Keita's clausula and Sevilla are signing Ndri Romaric to replace him.

So how good is Felipe Melo? I can't remember seeing him play... Fiorentina have just paid £12Million (!!) for him, and Prandelli is as shrewd a judge of talent as any.... so he must be really good??

Don't really know anything about Romaric but maybe it doesn't matter...

Silva would be a great signing and fit in well with the style that Barca play because he can assist and he can also provide goals. but if they dont get a winger then they are making one of the same mistakes as Rijkaard made before.

Perhaps but he is a great replacement for Ronaldinho in his style so it doesnt matter. problem is how they adress the Henry and Eto situation because they cant really bring another attacker since he would little playing time.one of them should be sold.

Romaric Furious After Sevilla Move Is Blocked

Koffi Romaric was left fuming after seeing a move to Sevilla called off afer Le Mans rejected the Spanish club's latest offer for his services and vowed to push through a move to the Spanish club.

The Ivory Coast international looked set to put pen to paper on a four year deal at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, but the French club insisted on holding out for €10m.

Sevilla are believed to have made an offer of €7m for Romaric as they view him as the ideal replacement for Barcelona-bound Seydou Keita and the news that the deal has been called off has not go down well.

"Three years at Le Mans is enough! I have made my decision, I will leave," Romaric stated. "The president has closed the door to Sevilla, it is his problem - in my mind I have already left.

"On July 9 I will resume training and it will be with Sevilla - they have already given me the pre-season schedule and I will follow it.

"Le Mans, it is over - I am upset because I have always been fair and respected them.

"Maybe they will prevent me from going to Sevilla - but I need another challenge and it will be elsewhere, not in Le Mans - it is very clear I won't be back."

I was sure that Romaric would be a east european guy.

Why sign Afellay when you can have VDV for a (relatively) low sum? It's remarkable how the big European clubs show no real interest in signing him. Really would like to know the reason.

I think both are different type of players, maybe one Barça is interested in, this probably mean Gio dos Santos could be going (I’m guessing). VDV I reckon should be one player Barça should be interested in and there have been rumours of him being linked considering Deco is leaving; now it’s the time. Maybe his past of being as fragile as glass could come into the reckoning, but you’d have him and there is no long term serious risk …

Dos Santos looked quite good as an AM, making runs from deep. Contrary to popular opinion; he actually works hard and could do a decent job in that position. None of his failings this year have had to do with his work ethic.

I like Afellay, but I feel he is too similar to Iniesta (and whilst this isn't a bad thing), they really need a VDV type - a midfielder who will get you 10-15 goals a season.

I would keep Dos Santos.. Convince him to go on loan or something, because he definetely has the technical skills. We just need him to develop his understanding of the game, when to pass, when to dribble etc.. He won't be worldclass but he could become a valuable squad player.

Funny how some fans blamed him for not scoring enough considering that Deco didn't score once, Iniesta only a few times and Henry only when the season was over...

Also, depending on whether you believe AS or Marca (and neither would be a perfectly reasonable answer) Real Madrid are offering 80 to 90m. euro for Cristiano Ronaldo. I really hope this doesn't happen.

Edmilson has officially signed for Villarreal on a 2 year contract...the official announcement on their website coincided with a farewell press conference that he just gave for the press in Barcelona. I've updated the first post.

Look at you with your mod powers! Wink

Anyhow, you forgot to "add" him to Villarreal....but I changed that. Biggrin

In any case, I do wonder if Villarreal couldn't have done better than Edmilson. If they are really going to go for it in the CL and not completely flounder domestically I would think they'd need someone a little more reliable.

btw, just realised...considering the CL qualification curse of La Liga, does it mean that one of Villarreal or Atletico will be battling relegation next year Yikes

Or actually the curse is mostly for over-achieving clubs, so it'll probably be Racing who are in trouble, esp. with Marcelino going.

Maybe so but then I still think they need someone else to partner Senna in central midfield. Eguren is ok but, again, not really good enough for CL probably.

But UEFA Cup is not as demanding (or as lucrative) as CL. I think Villarreal and Atletico could potentially struggle in the league, it all depends on the signings.
