Ronaldo's mom said she wants to see him play for Real Madrid before she dies.
Cristiano Ronaldo's mum battling breast cancer 2nd January 2008The mother of Manchester United soccer ace Cristiano Ronaldo is battling breast cancer - and is currently recovering from a life-saving operation, it has been revealed.
Dolores Aveiro underwent radiotherapy after surgery to remove a lump from her breast and broke the news to the Man United Right/Left Winger just before Christmas.
Cristiano, 22, is desperate to be by the 53-year-old's side at the family home in Madeira, but must stay in England to continue playing in the premiership league.
"This has hit Cristiano really hard," a pal reveals. "He had his fair share of heartache and his mum means the world to him."
But the rising star of footabll is determined to look after his mother and calls her every day to keep her spirits up.
"I try to give my mum lots of love and affection," Cristiano told Britain's Sunday Mirror newspaper.
"I'm just sorry I can't be with her for her birthday."

It sounds like shes on the mend so i don't see the hurry in Ronaldo joining Real.
What should be keeping Ronaldo at Man Utd:
- Loyalty to SAF and Queiroz.
- Ronaldo saying numerous times he wants to be remembered as a true Man Utd great, i.e. Best, Cantona, Beckham.
- Knowing SAF will retire in 2-3 years.
- Anderson and Nani.
- The fact that this group of players can only get better.
