True but i love it nonetheless. its always interesting to see what the papers will invent next. last year As apparently knew exactly what Kaka said to Berlusconi in a private meeting. that was the best one allthough the recent one with As getting Ronaldos family is also good.L.r.d wrote:It's more comedy than drama.

Wish i knew these were comedy papers earlier, missed out on a few laughs. Marca must spend all day thinking up of a story to base around their summer mega deal for the next day.
If Ronaldo did actually join Madrid tomorrow they'd be fucked

with the stories but that is only partly true. Real does use them but Marca/As also make up stuff so they can sell. for them it would be better if Ronaldo prolongs this till the end of the summer.

Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has revealed he has given Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo advice about his future.
Ronaldo, who has attracted considerable interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid, is currently with the national squad preparing for Euro 2008.
Scolari, speaking at a press conference ahead of Portugal's friendly with Georgia on Saturday, says he will support Ronaldo whatever decision he makes about his career.
The Brazilian said: 'We've spoken a lot, as for him I'm more than an older friend, and I've given him some advice.
'For me football is not about memories but chances, which sometimes don't present themselves again.
'Regardless of the decision he makes about his future we're here to support him.'

Ronaldo: News In Three Days
Manchester United hot-shot Cristiano Ronaldo has stated that the final decision over his future will be announced by Tuesday...
The Portuguese ace has been tipped for a move to Real Madrid, with Manchester United apparently unwilling to off-load their star, who scored 42 goals in all competitions this season, despite big-money approaches from the Spanish club.
And Ronaldo, who is reported to be interested in a move to Santiago Bernabéu, has ensured that his future will be decided next week.
"Let's see, I hope there will be news soon. In two or three days I will announce my decision," he said after the game against Georgia.
On Portugal's display against Georgia, Ronaldo, who played during the first-half, said that he was happy with the 2-0 win and with his own level of play.
"I felt fine in the game, from now on I only have to make maintenance. I have realized that my level won't drop, just like it won't raise.
"I will be in good form in Euro, and I really want to make a good tournament," he added.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson says the club would rather put Cristiano Ronaldo in the stands than sell him to Real Madrid.
United have threatened to report Real to Fifa over their publicly declared interest in signing Ronaldo.
Ferguson has met the Glazer family, who own the club, and said: "Their attitude is 'To hell with them'.
"They'd sit a player in the stand, I'm telling you, absolutely no doubt about it, just to prove a point."
Ronaldo, 23, is currently with the Portugal squad ahead of Euro 2008 after a season in which he inspired the Old Trafford club to a Premier League and Champions League double.
They have been brilliant owners
Ferguson on the Glazers
He has a deal with United which runs until 2012 but has refused to state publicly that he is to stay with the club.
Real Madrid manager Bernd Schuster has made no secret about his admiration for Ronaldo.
But the Spanish outfit's president Ramon Calderon has defended their conduct, saying recently: "We know they [United] aren't a selling club. It is a problem between player and team."
Ferguson insists that the Glazers are determined to keep their prize asset, even if it means taking a tough line.
And, despite criticism of the Glazers when they took over the club in 2005, Ferguson praised them for the impact they have had at the club.
"They have been good to this club, believe me," he said. "They have been brilliant owners."

If you guys want to believe your debt riddled owners would prefer to sit 50 million plus in the stands and let it whittle down to nothing then fair enough

They have not done anything against their word in the time here. This is a battle to show who's boss and they are stubborn c**ts. I believe them for sure. The debt is always largely exaggerated, Ronaldo makes Man Utd to much from merchandise to let go so cheaply.

He doesn't make any merchandise in the stands lrd. Ronaldo is enough of a Pr!ck to be equally as stubborn
The club is making losses due to having to pay 80 million in interest every year lrd. If the glazers have enough of their own money not invested in united to absorb these losses then you may have a point and the 'stubborn cunts' would actually throw 50 million plus away

Re: Ronaldo off to Spain....
But you believed Hicks and Gillett, two guys who when i first saw talk i knew were complete $h!t talkers telling you what you wanted to hear.
The glazers tend to shut up, but when they do speak it's usually their word and they've yet to go against anything they have said. They said they would still spend big money etc, and last year look what happenend.
I don't believe the debt is as huge a problem as some say, or such contracts and big signings wouldn't be happening. Ronaldo is a professional he wouldn't be stubborn to throw away years of his career. The Glazers im sure wouldn't want to make Madrid a bigger club in terms of revenue and also leave open the possibility of Man Utd being seen as a selling club and not as big as Madrid.
It could be more of a warning to Ronaldo not to ask to leave, but im sure they would go through with it, at least for a season to make a point.

it seems like very stupid stuff with transfer fees of around 30 mil for Benzema if they are in heavy debt.

In the long run though, another wc player that may consider leaving would think twice. And in theory it sounds good, but in reality after 2-3 months he'd probably make some bullshit up about wanting to stay. And come back into the team fresh after a nice long break

it's one thing saying they'd turn down any offers and let him rot, it's another thing actually doing it. Faced with a cheque for £60m you'd be suprised what some people are prepared to do. The Glaziers didn't get to where they are today by turning down £60m cheques on a point of principle.
It's all words.

Yeah but 2-3 months is a dozen goals less that you'd score - could easily cost you the league
On a serious note, if you did sell him you could probably afford to buy Torres
