Holland were truly awesome, by far the best football i've seen in a while, they seem to have it all right to win a big tournament, a solid defence, hard working and techincally good players and clinical forwards along with a top class keeper. Kuyt was fantastic, I hope he carries that form through the tournament and into the next season with Liverpool.

Not that solid a defence, a hardly tested one is more like it.

And Italy did have their chances, they just didn't / couldn't use them.

Holland were one of the favourites for me before the tournament started, they are still one of the favourites - nothing has changed. Italy however were really disappointing, especially defensively.

Holland's passing is quicker but Italy's is more intricate and IMO more beautiful to watch.

You aren't going to win a major tournie with Ruud and Huntelaar as your forwards - you'd have more chance with Germany's third-rate Poles up front.

Italy barely got out of their own half in the first half. The two times they did Holland ripped them apart on both occasions

I can name plenty of players who played well for holland

Other than that they have good FBs, good CM apart from De Jong and good attack apart from the horse.

Your boy Pirlo played well today . Firt Gerrard, them Lampard now Pirlo .
I still don't rate him until he plays without two DMs. Italy were horrible today and its partly down to Pirlo's need for two DMs even when he cannot play in advanced positions (like Requelme, Deco, VDV...) he still has to stay deep.

Pirlo doesnt need two Dms. its more down to managers being conservative. Donadoni doesnt really take risks as such and that is why they play with 2 Dms next to him. Milan were at their best when they used only Gattuso-Pirlo.

I might be alone but i agree with what you said. Watching Pirlo passes at times was a delight. problem is that he overcovered. i would love to see them play with De Rossi-Pirlo-Aquilani with Natale-Toni-Cassano up front. that would be great to watch.

Stil think Holland plays quite nice football.

Not that I want to support shaxlx's mad ramblings but I am afraid that you're wrong here. You missed the fact that they used to play seedorf in the current ambrosini position helping out defensively on the left of midfield.

However milan played their best when ambrosini came in as he is a defensive midfielder and seedorf was allowed to push forward in his more natural position.
