    5-5 FT

    Cracking match!!!

I was mainly watching the Inter-Roma match in the 1st half, but switched over at half time. Still caught the Cheyrou goal though cheers call him up Domenech!

Makoun is better on the ball than i initially thought, look at how he chipped the ball into Lisandro's path for Lyon's 3rd goal, and he played those balls over the top about 2 or 3 times tonight.

    Very entertaining match.

Wow, 5-5 couldn't believe believe my eyes when I saw the score.
Marseille scored 11 goals in two games this week. Domenech is really a cun* not to take Cheroux, because he is a great player.
    There were some sweet goals:

    Lille 4-3 Lyon:

    What a game!

IMHO there isn't a footballer aged 21 and under better than Eden Hazard anywhere in this moment in time!

Lille took all three points and climbed into the top half of Ligue 1 following a seven goal thriller against Lyon at Stadium Lille Metropole.

Despite a first half hat-trick from Lisandro Lopez and twice leading by two goals, Lyon couldn't maintain their advantage which would have sent them into second within two points of Bordeaux at the top of the table.

The 26-year-old Argentinian gave the visitors the lead after just two minutes and added a second from the penalty spot 20 minutes later after Ludovic Obraniak handled inside the area.

Lille, coming off the back of a midweek defeat to Valencia in the Europa League, responded immediately through Pierre-Alain Frau but Lyon lead 3-1 at the break as Lopez completed his hat-trick ten minutes before the the half time whistle.

The hosts were back in it eight minutes after the interval when Gervinho latched on to Rio Mavub's through ball and fired past Hugo Loris from a tight angle.

Lille levelled midway through the half with Yohan Cabaye converting from the spot after Mathieu Debuchy was tumbled inside the area.

With ten minutes to go the hosts could have taken the lead. Substitute Eden Hazard crossed for Gervinho but Loris made an excellent close range save from the Ivorian to keep Lyon alive.

Then in second half stoppage time the same two combined to give Lille all three points. Hazard created the danger, finding Gervinho inside the area and he lashed past Loris to snatch a memorable victory for the home side.

Lille move to tenth in the table while Lyon relinquish the opportunity to jump to second in the table and remain in fourth, five points off the leaders.

Question for Ligue 1 watchers - are there any major derbies/rivalries in the French league apart from PSG-Marseille? I don't know of any others...which I find quite strange, because every major league in Europe has at least a few bitter rivalries.

    A few strike in mind:

    Bordeaux-Toulouse
    Lille-Lens
    Strasbourg-Metz
    Rennes-Nantes
    Monaco-Marseille

are the other biggest derbies in the ligue 1

St Etienne-Lyon is a kind of classic because St Etienne used to be good and now they are crap and Lyon good.

Yes, Lille are looking great. They won 5 or 6 of their last games, scoring at least 3 goals each time. Gervinho has been doing great. I knew we should have bought him last summer. If Lille continue like that, they could well finish second behind Bordeaux.

We've just managed to buy Lovren Dejan despite that Chelsea et Tottenham were after him as well. Cost 10m euros, 20 years old and is bright Croatian defender. Never heard of him. Anyone knows something about him. Good thing for Lyon as Cris and Boumsong are not playing that well this year. Bodmer will get his midfield place again which will create a better balance for the team.

Yes they need to wake up otherwise things could go very ugly for them. If they don't qualify for a C.L spot I can see everyone leaving the shrinking ship. Surprised they lost against P.S.G who are really crap this year. This shows how affected they are after getting elminated by Lyon.

Five points from their last six games simply isn't good enough, they had the league in the bag at one point.

Marseille now have a great chance for their first title since 1992. <Ale>

3 days left and Marseille are likely to lift the trophee.
Bordeaux and Lyon won this weekend, thank god. Feking Auxerre that won 7 of their last 8 games, incredible.

    36th day:

    Lyon-Auxerre
    Nice-Bordeaux
    Marseille-Rennes
    Sochaux-Montpellier

    37th day
    Montpellier -Lorient
    Lille-Marseille
    Bordeaux Sochaux
    Auxerre-Lens
    Valenciennes-Lyon

    38th

    P.S.G-Montpellier
    Sochaux-Auxerre
    Lyon-Le Mans
    Marseille-Grenoble
    Lens-Bordeaux
    Lorient-Lille

    Lyon-Monaco

    Standings

    1. Marseille-72-(35games)
    2. Auxerre- 67-(35g)
    3. Lille-64------(35g)
    4. Lyon- 62-----(34g)
    5. Bordeaux-60--(35g)
    6. Montpellier-60--(35g)

I can't remember the last time 6 teams where battling for C.L spots. I wouldn't wind Marseille, Lille and Lyon of course, but not Auxerre and Momtpellier ffs!

Lyon's game in hand against Monaco is going to a crucial for their CL hopes. Given the way they fought back against Auxerre you would have to say it is unlikely they will finish outside the top three now. I've always looked out for Auxerre since they beat us 2-1 at Highbury back in 2003, they must be hoping that Marseille aren't still in celebration mode when they face Lille.

Yes our game against Monaco is going to be very important. Hope Auxerre lose some points. Auxerre used to be a good team but now I don't think they are special at all. They have average players and if they qualify for the C.L they will do absolutely fuk all.

Bravo Marseille now they will have money to buy better players and be as competitive as us.

I still think the turning point for them was to lose against Benfica in the Europa league. They then won 7 of the following games.

Jelen was a nightmare for Boumson and Cris all evening, but fortunately for them scored only once (opening the score), hitting post and putting ball slightly wide in other 2 occasions.
Very entertaining game, not your typical Ligue1 match (which can be very boring on top level), Lyon had a penalty which was 50-50, which was converted by Lisandro to make it 1:1.
