Unlikely, Mou today did mention that Adriano will definately start... on Balotelli, he said that the primavera performance means nothing and the kid will have to keep working hard.... glad to see Mou take a tough stance on this, it is important for Balotelli to get disciplined early in his career.

On a site note, Zanetti will tomorrow become the most capped Inter player in European competition history.... a legendary milestone, and Mourinho's comments today summerizes the attitude that has made Zanetti the most loved Inter player of all time:

Mourinho: “It's a historic game for Zanetti. I would have been ready to rest him, but he doesn't like that."

I don't mind seeing Burdisso in the defence tonight, inspite of his "heroics" against famagusta.... Samuel is not in squad, and he anyways needs a rest. Maybe we should also rest Maicon, Maxwell & Materazzi, by starting Cordoba with Zanetti (who needs no rest, ever) & Chivu completin the defence. So ideally, I would like to see the following team turn up:
    Toldo
    Zanetti-Burdisso-Cordoba-Chivu
    Cambiasso-Muntari
    Quaresma--------------------Mancini
    Cruz - Balotelli

But I am quite sure that won't happen, and Mou will revert back to his dreaded 433 (which is really 451 in disguise).

You lost in Europe by resting certain players, and then wanted Mourinho to rest more...you then lose at home to Panathinikos because of that, and then slag off Samp for doing the same thing, when we are actually struggling in the league...

Unbelievable...double standards and hypocrisy of the highest order.

What bullshit! Did you even see the game?? We lost to Pana coz Mou DID NOT rest the players... Inter have a lot of players who are of equal quality, and to get the best performance the manager needs to rotate the squad. Mou didn't. He played his main team again and again, which was specifically silly for the Pana game considering that they had just played a gruelling derby d'italia just 3 days back.

I wanted Mou to rest some players, that is true. But that was only coz I felt the team woudl perform better.... you do realise that we are talking about replacing Maicon with Zanetti, Materazzi with Cordoba, Stankovic with Mancini - ie, players of similar quality.

Thats very different than replacing Cassano and Bellucci with "Fornaroli & Bonazzoli", for example. Do you get what I mean??

Thanks dude. I wouldn't put super mario in the FF team yet. Most likely he will be a few minutes in as a sub, if at all.

Giovinco might be a good bet tho ok

    Werder Bremen: 1 Wiese; 8 Fritz, 29 Mertesacker, 15 Prodl, 2 Boenisch; 22 Frings, 7 Franjes, 14 Hunt; 11 Ozil; 24 Pizarro, 9 Rosenberg.
    Subs: 33 Vander, 3 Pasanen, 5 Tosic, 6 Baumann, 17 Husejinovic, 20 Jensen, 25 Niemeyer.

    Inter: 12 Julio Cesar; 13 Maicon, 2 Cordoba, 23 Materazzi, 16 Burdisso; 4 Zanetti, 19 Cambiasso, 20 Muntari; 77 Quaresma, 10 Adriano, 33 Mancini.
    Subs: 22 Orlandoni, 6 Maxwell, 7 Figo, 8 Ibrahimovic, 11 Jimenez, 39 Santon, 45 Balotelli.

Mou going back to his 433 again, and apart from Ibra, he doesn't rest anyone. I wish he had considered giving Maicon & Cambiasso a rest too, both have played a lot lot, and we also have an injury crisis at the DM role with Vieira and Dacourt injured.

Anyways, should be an interesting game. Both teams playing for pride with strong line ups!

Wow, a Milan fan criticizing Inter.... think you will qualify for the qualifying round this time, mate? Razz

Anyways, this has been one of our worst CL campaigns so far.... we played 1 good game and 5 terrible ones in what surely was the easiest of the CL groups. Maybe this is a good sign, 4 times in the last 5 years we won our CL group. Maybe this time Inter will have a better second half....

I can only see the cup is half full.... Mou's comments after the game were very encouraging. He admitted that:
    - Inter perform only when they play 442, and
    - Inter lose their intensity and focus whenever he starts Mancini over Stank
These are key realisations, and if Mou sticks with his best team & formation for the big games, we can take anyone on. Lets just hope that he sticks with his new found wisdom, which has been so apparent to all of us nerazzurri all this while.. but it takes a smart coach to admit his tactical mistakes in the press, and Mou's comments give me a lot of confidence.

Honestly, that is a hollow comeback. Milan have performed wonders in Europe in recent years. Inter can only hope. Wink

Obviously you are better than all the teams in your group, and maybe it is a formation issue, but whatever the case, Inter are never going to be given the Grande tag until they actually do something in Europe.

We have been poor in the CL in recent year, no one is doubting that. But I am quite sure with Mou, we will rectify that in the next 3-4 years.

So, how is the UEFA Cup experience for the "World Champions"? Razz
