    From Gazzetta dello sport

20.00 - Kakà came from a window of his apartment to greet fans. With the shirt in his hand rossonera fought his chest three times. Fans into delirium while negotiations continue indefinitely.

kas wrote:There could be serious implications in terms of wage deals...for example, Yaya Toure's agent is already starting the games with us ahead of his inevitable contract negotiations in the summer. He is being paid 2m a year, but Man. City are interested and would probably gladly double or even triple his salary. Now his agent will come back to the table saying "I want the same from Barça", and we don't really have a choice if we want to keep the player.

On the flip side, if we do sell, we can at least get inflated transfer fees. I'm pretty sure if Etoo's negotiations this summer get complicated, Txiki will play his own games by talking to Man. City and asking them how much they will pay...if their takeover had been completed last summer, then he would have surely gone to them because no other big club was paying the 40m euro asking fee.

You're missing the bigger picture Kas. If Eto'o goes does he take his academy in Cameroon with him? The future Eto'os are part of the deal. If he brings that into negotiations what then?

Where did you get that?? The last reports I got were that Milan have agreed the fee, and now its upto Kaka to accept the terms or reject them...

But, his gesture outside his house suggests that he will stay at Milan...

    It is indeed over...

Kaka to stay at Milan!Monday 19 January, 2009

In a sensational twist, Milan patron Silvio Berlusconi has announced that Kaka will be staying with the Rossoneri!

Talks have been taking place all day between Manchester City directors, Kaka's father and Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani.

It had appeared that a resolution had been found as reports stated that Milan had accepted City's £107m bid.

A statement confirming Kaka's departure was expected within the next 24 hours, but Berlusconi has made an amazing declaration.

“You can't force anyone to stay at a club against their will,” he said live on TV.

“A player who is getting paid half his potential earnings elsewhere runs the risk of becoming unhappy.

“Nevertheless, I will make an announcement - Kaka will stay at Milan because he prefers the Rossoneri and puts love above money.

“The negotiations were closed by myself and Kaka in person. All the remains to be said is long live Kaka!”

Well I guess Real will bid, but as I said a few days ago, I have no problem selling any player for that amount of money Very Happy

My problem is basically with the management and what they do with the money afterwards.

You never know in football, but I think this pretty much means Kaka' will retire at Milan. It also seems this whole thing was staged by Berlusconi as way to flex muscle.

Kaka' will now be a god at Milan. Also, it emerged that it was Kaka's dad who was pushing Milan for the move. So it does not seem that it was a case of mistreatment on Milan's part. In the end Silvio and Kaka' decided what was best.

This is how the day unfolded. I am giving you this news from Italian sources:

    1) Galliani met with Berlu this morning after which time he went to see Kaka's dad.

    2) Kaka's dad then had a long chat with Gary Cook, a yahoo from City.

    3) In the meantime, the fans went outside Ricky's house and began a huge protest for him to stay. He emerged clutching a Milan jersey and beat his chest three times.

    4) After the meeting ended between Kaka's father, Bosco, and Cook, the former moved to finalize the deal.

    5) Italian media then reported that the deal was done and Kaka' would be a City player by the morning.

    6) Berlusconi, the vain man that he is, appeared on an Italian TV show, Processo di Biscardi to announce that Kaka' was staying and went on to say that he will now, with this move, become the symbol of this team for many years to come. He has turned down a ton of money because he loves it here at Milan. He and I made the decision together.

    7) The fans went nuts.

Well I follow AC Milan in Italy. Kaka is my favourite player in the world and epitomised a model professional so I found it hard to believe he would leave Milian for City.

I'm so happy for him and all Milan fans. Personally I feel the team should be built round him but that's a debate for another day!

For the first time since the announcement, the Brazilian spoke to the Milan Channel, to give his thoughts on what recently took place.

"Not even for thirty seconds did I think about leaving," he stated.

“I never wanted money or anything. I am doing very well in a place where people respect and love me, and I am therefore happy to be here.

“My family has been very good for me as always, however I had no doubts as to what I would be doing this time around.

“I went with my heart, as it was never going to be an economic choice for me.

“At Milan there are wonderful people, and just to confirm, I have never, and will never, ask for an increase in my wages at this club.

“Everyone here is very good to me, and for this I can only thank them,” he added.

“I will be celebrating the fact that this is all over at home with a couple of friends later, and I’m just looking forward to moving forward with Milan.

“I am a strong believer in God; however it is not always the most logical path that God chooses for us.

“If the club had accepted an offer, I would have been very upset and disappointing in leaving the club.

“My companions have been exceptional to me as well over this time, even though they knew that I was never going to join Manchester City.

“I would like to embrace all those who have sent me messages recently, so thank you all very much,” he concluded.

WOW! Kaká saying NO to Hughes will be a big blow to Citeh in general. If Mourinho had been the coach or someone like him, then Kaká would've signed. Of that I'm convinced.

Big drama now at Citeh with this rejection. I will be keeping a close eye to Robinho's demeanor at the club. If I were him, I'd like to get the fuck out of a team coached by someone like Hughes. No offense to Hughes, but he's no top class coach FFS! <Ale>

Let's keep our feet on the ground. We shouldn't forget the insane amount Kaka makes even at Milan (plus merchandising). He won't be able to spend all that money anyway.

It's not like a beggar turned down 15mil a year, but somebody who's making 10mil already!

So, I think sainthood should wait a little longer.

And, by the way, if he didn't have to think about it for thirty seconds, then why did this story last 4-5 days? He could have just told everybody last week. No reason for all these meetings with City either.
