    you mean disgrace?

    No

    Yes

When Villa can get into the CL next season, do they really give a shit about the UEFA cup?

IF Villa get into the CL, they will be KOed in the group stage and most likely go back into the UEFA cup. They are a UEFA cup level team (plus if they wanted to have a better chance in the CL they could actually do with the coefficient points).

Why? because they have no pace? Or are you making a prediction before a ball has been kicked. Disgrace

No experience, poor seeding, disgraceful manager and not good enough.

The Italians have had that attitude for ages. Except in both the CL and Uefa cup (where the matches can't be fixed), hence why they've been shit in Europe for years.

    Nothing new to see here

erm didn't Milan win the CL a couple of seasons ago? Rolling Eyes

Easy to do well in Europe when you're fixing matches in the league. All the other teams were , and have been, shit in Europe for some time now

The part in bold doesn't make sense.

You were wrong. You can't just discount Milan.

Villa is a bigger club than, for example, Chelsea - barring the success Abramovich bought in recent years. Even if we went out straight away, it'd be a big step to finish in the top 4, given how the league has been for the last 5 yrs.

Why not? We got very good backing in terms of money, quite a few young players who could stick around long term, a stable management set-up, and large potential fanbase. Do you really think the 'big 4' will never change? How can you ignore history on one hand...and then suggest you know what will happen long-term? You can only have any conception of long-term future by looking at historical trends - the teams at the top don't stay fixed forever.

    @Debaser,

Breath : don't bother wasting it if I were you. You won't get any sense from this one once he's developed an agenda.

Villa are actually better off financially than Arsenal, so if they can nick the 4th spot, there is no reason why they can't hold onto it, especially as they'll be able to attract better players with CL football.

Just the way he is ill informed. For example,on Trezeguet in 06, he said that he wasn't as good as he was a few years ago. This was a player who just finished as 2nd topscorer in Serie A with 23 goals and bagged 6 goals in the CL. It was quite clear that MON didn't have a clue what he was actually talking about. Fair enough he can have his opinions but it would be nice if he actually backed them up instead of just talking out of his arse.

But we're talking top 4. I doubt there's been any major league where the same 4 teams have occupied the top 4 as long as has happened in the PL recently. Of course, Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal will always be big clubs, in and around the top of the league - but you've yet to give a convincing argument why Villa couldn't establish themselves in the top 4 for a few seasons.

Chelsea are a smaller club than Villa, and managed to establish themselves. They did it by mass spending in short period of time. Villa are trying to do it by a more gradual method. It might work, might not. You don't know and nor do I.
