With Henry and Iniesta out, Fergie will be rubbing his hands now to man-mark the rest of the threat, Messi and Xavi, which means Ego'o will be AWOL. Bojan might play, but he is easy to be snuffed out. With Yaya in defence, it will be Keita and Busquets along with Xavi, come on United!

It is working out rather nicely. Henry, Iniesta, Alves, Marques and Abidal so far. Hopefully all those anyway. One more and that's enough we want some kind of spectacle for the neutral viewer like yourself

fucking hell why did iniesta have to get injured.

i'm disappointed that pep didn't rest 1/2 starters for this game, i can understand that he wanted to win the league, but the players are playing on empty.

This is the worst possible news...Pep even said he was about to take Iniesta off but Abidal's red card forced him to change plans. So let's all blame Abidal
Now Hleb's lack of any match rhythm or partnerships with the team will really hurt us.
Don't even want to start contemplating possible lineups, the official scans will be done today but it really didn't look good. This has not sunk in yet, such bad news, I don't believe it

True, yesterday they really started fading towards the end of the game and were just hanging, on hoping Villarreal wouldn't score. Now it's going to be tough against Athletic, who will really go for a high paced physical game.

To call it a load of rubbish would be a complement.
Seis, seis, seis
Josep M. Fonalleras

Jorquera broke his thumb in training yesterday:
http://fcbtransfers.blogspot.com/2009/05/medical-jorquera-suffers-finger-injury.html
This summer was probably the end of his Barça career anyway, and now he won't even get a token farewell appearance or something on the last day of the season.

so how much money to you think txiki will have to play with this summer, the last i figure i heard sans come out with was 30m euros, plus whatever we gain for our sales.
so i'm thinking 4m for guddy and 6m for helb, would equal 40m plus he did say he would make extra funds available if pep and txiki really wanted a player
so i'm guessing about 20-25m extra will be their for them
thats 60-65m euros.
this is how i think it will be spent
35-40m on a crack(villa,silva or ribery)
15M on a midfielder
10M on a up and coming leftback

Doubt we'll even get that much for Gudjohnsen...whereas I'm pretty confident we'll get up to twice as much for Hleb. 10-12m at least, since Bayern will need a creative fulcrum for their team if Diego does sign for Juve.
So I think it'll be around 40m euros that can go towards a LB and a midfielder (or two). Then whatever is needed for the 'crack', and I agree with you on those names.

spain coach lights future barca captain, muniesa
future of the barca backline definitely
The most surprising of the exits was that of holders Spain, who set a unique record in any UEFA finals group stage by drawing all of their games 0-0, against Italy, France and Switzerland. "Over the three games, we have stuck true to our philosophy of trying to keep the ball," said coach Ginés Meléndez. "The only thing missing was a goal but we won't change our approach – we still haven't lost in 20 games. It is more important for us to mould players for the national team. I don't like to pick out a player but centre-back Marc Muniesa, who was out with injury for ten months, did well."
