Fletcher and Mears for a total of £3.5m - great business by Coyle, Fletcher will be a good signing in my opinion, a very promising youngster.

Also updated Blackburn, any i have missed just post.

We have signed Luis Valencia for undisclosed fees.

Valencia deal just confirmed. He's signed a 4 year deal with the fee reported to be £18m

The link doesnt mention any fees so I stick by my sources, and Wigan sold Palacios for 14 m so club record fees still could be 15 m.

Manchester United have signed Wigan Athletic winger Antonio Valencia on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee.The
23-year-old Ecuador international is manager Sir Alex Ferguson's first
signing since Cristiano Ronaldo signed for Real Madrid in a £80m
transfer. "Antonio is a player we have admired for some time
now, having spent the last two years in the Premier League with Wigan,"
said Ferguson. Valencia's transfer is reported to have cost United as much as £16m. "I am sure his pace and ability will make a significant contribution to the team," added Ferguson.

United have been in contact with Wigan over a deal for Valencia over
the last "two to three months", according to Latics chairman Dave
Whelan. "I have enjoyed my time at Wigan, but I am thrilled to
have the chance to challenge for the biggest honours in club football
here," said Valencia. "Playing in front of 76,000 fans
alongside players like Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand and Ryan Giggs will

Has anyone been impressed by any clubs early season signings ?

I think it looks like Brum will spend big and imo dont seem to be getting great value for money, they are taking risks by signing players without EPL experiance and have spent just over £15m already. Very different to Burnely who look to be spending with caution, i dont thin kthey will spend over £15m but seem to be getting decent value for their money so far, Coyle is a great manager for this.

I think Wolves are buying quite wisley and i think they will continue to do so, i like the look (so far) of the Wolves team and think they have a decent chance of staying up.

Wolves have David Edwards. Another Shrew product in the premier league. Of course they will survive

Although, for consistency, I'd then also have to accept that Brum will survive with Hart

Hart is a great signing. I think they will continue to spend big (Bowyer next although he is on a free) and i thin they will get Baz Ferguson from Rangers. These arnt bad signings but i just dont rate McLeish as a manager and i think they will struggle. Its a big challenge going up and bringing in lots of players and then getting them to gell.

Roger Johnson could be a bargain at £5m, or he could sit on the bench all season and be a huge flop. He's one of Tony Adams' few success stories while he was at Wycombe and reminds me of Jonathan Woodgate. Looking like Jonathan Woodgate is one thing in the Championship or League Two, but only Jonathan Woodgate has managed it so far in the Premiership.

Jordi Gomez is another player that catches the eye and is a bargain whatever happens, another player Wigan can make a 750% profit on potentially.

Edgar has completed hs move to the clarets on a 4 year deal. Compensation is yet to be decided.

He looked ok in the few games he's played for us, he's never really been rated as a prospect though by any of our managers.
