L-r d wrote:The debt is around 500 million according to David Gill. When Man Utd buy players they always pay in installments and usually have performence or trophy based clauses also attached. With the knowledge that 80 mill is coming in and the Glazers stating that all of it will be made avaliable to Fergie for transfers i am sure spending 100 odd mill this summer wouldn't surprise many at all. Not that i want Fergie to spend that much.

The only person being naive FG is you if you believe 40 mill is all Man Utd have to spend. Despite spending 40 mill per season without selling 100 mill worth of players.

You haven't sold Tevez LRD, now i know your clutching at straws, but to claim an asset that isn't yours sold, really is scraping the barrel Laughing

Your debt is £649.4m, which rose in the last financial year from £604m (these are all available figures btw) - so your debt is getting worse. You have to pay £150m back in 2011 i think it is, your making a loss of £45m when generating over £250m revenue, i repeat... where is the money coming from?

If you wish to bury your head in the sand, no probs... just because your club keep issueing £40m transfer budget each season (ironically that was just under what you lost last finacial year) and you think because its been done before its having no impact on your overall finances (£604 - £649.4m) Your utterly clueless.

Ultimately in two years time your club need to have access to £150m. I ask once again where is that money coming from?

Dude where did i even mention Tevez in that post. Campbell is going for 6 mill, Gibson for 4 and a few others. This is around 100 mill. Well 649 is not 800 is it FG and i heard Gill on a recent interview declare it at half a billion. Man Utd have consistently spent big the last 3 summers under the same circumstances so i don't understand your questions, they appear to be some wannabe know it all not knowing the details and making false conclusions from them.

I suppose ignorance is bliss eh LRD?

    Facts: £649.4m in debt
Facts: Grew in the last year from £604 to £649.4
Facts: In two years time you have to service £150m worth of that debt
Facts: This can be done by investing profits (your not making any) - capital investment from owners - selling off assets.

And i'm making false conclusions from this information? Laughing

I mentioned when these figures were printed, the above were your options and made a guess you'd sell some of your players, reality - Ronaldo gone, Tevez off the wage bill, Campbell going...

Kinda suggests the club is going down the road of selling their assets to finance their debt, wouldn't you say?

If you're not worried, you should be. At least our Yank owners are selling off other ownership assets to help our situation, what are your yanks doing? apart from increasing your debt year on year?

    WAKE UP LRD

Seriously i am not going to waste my time responding to you.

Campbell going is not a sign of going down the road of selling assets FG.
Agreeing to pay the 25.5 mill for Tevez and offer him a contract that would put him on a par with the highest at the club is not going down the road of a club struggling for cash FG.

Selling Ronaldo was because he asked to leave yet again, not because the club needed the money.

The Facts are the Glazers and all concerned said every penny from the transfer has gone to Fergie to make the team stronger. So instead of drawing false conclusions maybe you should SHUT UP FG Biggrin Ale

I don't listen to conjecture LRD, i'm only interested in the facts...

She said he said, are not facts... The above is.

Why did United not offer the £25m earlier in the year? if you were flush with cash why haggle? - You didn't allow Ronaldo to leave last year despite him wishing so, so why did you this year?

Selling off nominal assets fringe players, can generate money without ripping the heart out of the playing team.

They said every penny would go into the transfer kitty so fans did not kick off about selling their best player. The reality is, this won't happen... at least not within one summer.

And you've still YET to explain how you're going to pay £150m in two years time...

HEAD - IN - SAND, still its only the club you're supposed to love, yet i appear to know more about whats happening that you? Would you still support them if the shit hits the fan LRD? because all you seem interested in spending £115m that you don't have, as opposed to the more crucial issues that are apparent at your club.

If you were interested in facts. You'd look at the last few years. You wouldn't make comments like ''I mentioned when these figures were printed, the above were your options and made a guess you'd sell some of your players, reality - Ronaldo gone, Tevez off the wage bill, Campbell going...

Kinda suggests the club is going down the road of selling their assets to finance their debt, wouldn't you say?''

When the club actually offered Tevez a huge deal. And you would listen to the statements indicating a continous theme of the last few years.

The continuous theme is your in HUGE debt, this theme could see your club go out existence.

I'd take more interest in this 'theme'

When are you going to offer a response to, where is £150m coming from to pay your first installment off of the debt you owe in 2011.

The fact you are in huge debt, and year on year its getting worse - doesn't faze you, infact your response is, "well we spend £40m a year on players so it can't be that bad" is head in sand bullshit.

You have to pay back the monies you owe at some point (that some point starts in 2011), spending potential money that could be used to do this is not an indicator that 'everythings alright'

If you were in debt LRD, and ever year you kept loseing 40grand interest on your credit cards, what would you do?

I can't believe how fucking stupid you are, do you not care that in 2011 if you cannot pay £150m the bank could repossess Manchester United, strip the clubs assets to service the debt? the bank hold no loyalty to you the fans, just their shareholders..

    Rushden youngster joins Liverpool

Rushden and Diamonds youth team striker Aaron King has completed a move to Liverpool for an undisclosed fee.

King, 16, joined the Blue Square Premier side at age 11. He begins a two-year scholarship with Liverpool on 6 July following a successful trial.

Rushden's head of youth Paul Driver told the club website: "We are all absolutely thrilled for Aaron.

"This is a brilliant achievement for everyone involved in his development in the five years he has been with us."

King becomes the third player in the last two seasons to move from Rushden's youth system to a Premier League club, after Paris Cowan-Hall and Callum Reynolds who joined Portsmouth.

"His progress with us to get to the level where one of the 'big four' is prepared to offer him a scholarship also serves as further evidence of how well we have maintained our system, despite the withdrawal of financial support from the football authorities in the past two seasons," added Driver.

Rushden and Diamonds youth team will play a "Diamonds Legends" team on Sunday 2 August to help raise funds for the club's youth set-up.
