Well, there were several other dives by Arsenal players last night which were completely ignored by ITV and the press this morning so I don't think you've got that much to complain about.

You cheated, accept the criticism and move on. It's not like the opposition manager said Eduardo should be banned for life, unlike Wenger re: Taylor.

Please Rolling Eyes You obviously don't watch any other games involving other teams do you?

Obviously not. Wenger said that in the heat of the moment and admitted it. He said he didn't mean that when asked that again.

Indeed Ray, the only matches I ever watch are Arsenal ones and that is purely so I can come on here and wind up people like you who can't even admit your player cheated. You're absolutely right.

Arsene Wenger agreed with Fergie and believes trial by television and suspension would help stop diving.

"I was always for the fact if proven by video that the player has dived, you have to suspend him, and I have encouraged FIFA to consider that," said the Arsenal manager.

"Is it for my players? No, because I know my players are no angels.

"But I feel if you want to cut it out, you must be sure."

Wenger added: "For example, what [Andriy] Shevchenko did against Tunisia ... once the player knows they can be suspended, if that is seen after the game and proven that it was a deliberate dive, they will not do it any more."

But it wasn't a dive. He fell over to stop himself breaking his leg so Wenger's memory still works ok

Amazon withdraws Manchester United songs CD

    • Amazon removes compilation that included a chant abusing Arsène Wenger
    • 'Defamatory' lyrics prompted removal of 'Manchester United Chants' says store

Amazon has withdrawn a CD of Manchester United chants from sale after Arsenal complained that it contained defamatory lyrics about Arsène Wenger.

The unofficial "Manchester United Chants" album contains a song aimed at the Arsenal manager, who has been the subject of tasteless abuse from United fans in recent years.

A statement from Amazon.co.uk reported that Arsenal had complained about the chants. It said: "Arsenal Football Club has provided us with formal notice that content within the album 'Manchester United Chants' is defamatory in nature and we have, therefore, removed this title from our website.

"We would not remove a product from our site because some, or many, people find it to be distasteful or otherwise objectionable. We believe it is censorship to make a product unavailable for those reasons."

Wenger was sent off at the end of Arsenal's 2-1 defeat against Manchester United after he kicked a water bottle in anger when the visitors had a goal disallowed. Arsenal fans complained that he was then subjected to Manchester United fans chanting, "Sit down you paedophile".

The Manchester United director of communications Philip Townsend said: "We have gone on the record several times about this disgusting chant. We don't condone it and have appealed to fans several times in the past, through supporters' groups, the matchday programme and MUTV, but to no avail."

Does that mean they sell racist/neo-Nazi/anti-semitic/any other of the usual things that people find most objectionable and distasteful music on Amazon? I always figured they would be careful to avoid anything that could reflect badly on the brand.

Quite right too. However, Amazon were refusing to withdraw it only yesterday saying that'll be giving into censorship ( Rolling Eyes ) etc....but they'd been frightened off by the prospect of being blackballed and possibly the prospect of being sued. It's staggering that AW has had to put up with this for 13 years and it speaks volumes for the pathetic hypocracy in English football - if a British manager was subjected to same levels of defamation it would have been acted upon much much sooner.

I don't think he's had pedo chants for the whole 13 years but I do agree, the chants are as abusive as anything out there and bugger all is done about it. I find them funny, of course, but I still don't think he should have to tolerate that.
