Re: Premier League Discussion 3/4 April 2010
I've called one performance 'shit' COATER. It was an exaggeration of how I was feeling at the time. The performance wasn't that bad, but I know we can play better. Then again I didn't take into account the personnel missing and the fact Wolves didn't play in midweek.

Rosicky just seems to call them all shit
This is no agenda btw as Prof seems to think it is. I would love Arsenal to beat United and Chelsea to the title if they were in any way deserving of it. But this team is distinctly average and has been for the vast majority of the season. I'm pretty sure you realise this as well. This is the only basis for what I'm saying.

Fair enough, but these late goals we're getting our hardly luck. We've deserved the majority of late goals we've scored this season. Whether we up the ante late on, or our opponents are tired are irrelevant. We deserved the win and that's that.
United have won trophies with the amount of late goals they have but no-one seems to call it luck
Btw, Rosicky exaggerates everything, you should know that by now.

You never learn do u?
We've played good football in almost all our home games
And Away from home; ground out some results, Played (very)well in some others, looked flat in few - Just like every title contender perform away from home. We had the best away record before today for a reason. Not even Barcelona play fantastic football in every single away game.
Let this stupid agenda go.

Not sure I agree with that either RP. By all accounts today you were aided by yet another ref mistake. It is easy to up the ante when the ref is sending players off left right and centre (with incorrect decisions).
Yet again I don't think you can dispute that you have received favourable decisions in a disproportionate amounts of games this season either.
Also re: United
You couldn't be more wrong. United have had to live with the refs / luck tag for years. Everyone seems to call them lucky.
Anyway I just think you have a very average team. I can assure you my opinions on Arsenal winning the league would be very different if I saw something interesting about this team but I just don't. True it isn't your fault that the press (& Agooner) have created this fabrication that Arsenal are the bestest footballing side in the world, which creates derision because it blatantly isn't close to the truth, but especially compared to the great Arsenal teams of recent history this team holds zero appeal to me.

I hope you've all collectively greased up your arseholes, because there's going to be a very violent rape next week somewhere in Catalonia. So violent it'll probably be on Crimewatch the week after.
A scabby 1-0 win against Wolves isn't going to help you once you get out onto that pitch.
I just hope Arsenal don't humiliate English football with another performance chasing shadows from the so called purveyors of 'the beautiful game' on these shores.
And yes, Three point Lane awaits your triumphant return. I'm pretty confident you will not be celebrating come 10 o clock on Wednesday 14th April

But still on course to finishing with the same number of points the amazing liverpool team did last season?
Let it go, let it go....
You remember the number of times a player was sent off against Liverpool last season when u were not in a winning position?
Henry was even lucky to stay on the pitch after he deliberately stepped on Walcott calf, that should have been a red and i'm not even going on the tackle on Rosicky.
Like u even care about good football
Arsenal playing badly is still better watch than Liverpool on their 'good day' .

Re: Premier League Discussion 3/4 April 2010
I can see where you're coming from, but I still side with Agooner here. Despite the sending off, which I admit wasn't a red, we always looked like scoring and were in the ascendancy. Can it be luck that we've scored more goals in the final 15 minutes than anyone else this season? I'm not sure of the exact number, but it's ahell of a lot.
We have gained a lot of refeering decisions, but then again so have the other big teams. Chelsea today is an example, karma I guess for United some would say.
I disagree with you in saying we're an average team. Our best forward has been out since late October and we've had to compensate with someone who is 5"7 for the majority of it.
Fabregas has been in an out of the side but we have still won games without him. Our players, not sure why, but seem to get horrendous injuries, so I buy your point, but then we've also had numerous decisions go against us. Whether you say it balances itself out or not i'm not sure.
Yes, the Arsenal teams of recent history were more accomplished and had a more rounded affect to them. This team is more a bit of a one trick pony, in the sense we can only really play one way, but they are young (cliched I know) and are still learning. Is this not a trait to be commended?
I'm not saying this team doesn't have its defencies and flaws, but I think you're being a bit harsh.

For what it matters, Arsenal haven't been consistently great this season, but neither have United or Chelsea.
Any of those 3 are just about as deserved of the title as the other.
On the otherhand, Spurs clearly are the only team deserved of 4th place. Clearly. This point cannot be argued. Nope, not listening. What was that? Nah. City? Nah. Mancini's scarf is gay. Villa? Nah. MON is a disgrace. Liverpool? Nah. Just nah.

Re: Premier League Discussion 3/4 April 2010
I think this Arsenal team has the makings of a very good football team. And at the beginning of the season we played excellent football. I feel several players are still needed for us to consistently match United/Chelsea's first team. I dont think our strongest XI is far offf at all though. This does include a fit RVP though.
Moreover, the main problems are from our teams naive performances against the best teams - Man Utd are just a far more clinical and professional team than us ultimately.
I dont see how us scoring late goals is lucky. If a goal is a result of a good move, its hardly relevant what minute it comes in. Today we deserved to win. Stodgy performance but with a weakened team which lacked creativity. Everyone saw it coming but still created more than enough chances.
For all Bentdner problems, he's still a far better player than Eduardo.
Nasri looked impressive. Good call to rest him though. Campbell did fine. Ummm Song was ok, thats about it.
