I feel several players are still needed for us to consistently match United/Chelsea's first team. I dont think our strongest XI is far offf at all though. This does include a fit RVP though.

Moreover, the main problems are from our teams naive performances against the best teams - Man Utd are just a far more clinical and professional team than us ultimately.

I dont see how us scoring late goals is lucky. If a goal is a result of a good move, its hardly relevant what minute it comes in. Today we deserved to win. Stodgy performance but with a weakened team which lacked creativity. Everyone saw it coming but still created more than enough chances.

For all Bentdner problems, he's still a far better player than Eduardo.
Nasri looked impressive. Good call to rest him though. Campbell did fine. Ummm Song was ok, thats about it.

I was thinking three, four at most.

Its not my fault that you dont understand that the man up front doesnt decide on the tactics.

TS the same. I hope he doesnt let the kids coach his team.

Crouch isn't mobile or quick enough to successfully play a short passing game. Don't you think it's been tried before? Hasn't the SSN tick-o-meter explained this to you?

Strange, he's managed it for years. He's never been someone who was good with long ball football. Have you just started watching the game?

Crouch's Liverpool were renowed for their short passing game. Ditto England's 2006 World Cup campaign.

You're being a mong hole just for the sake of it. Admit it. I don't know what you're doing here anyway. Kimbo could do with some company on the championship thread.

    MODS, BAN HIM Twisted Evil

Crouch's Liverpool?????? WHAT A MONG. I think you'll find this was Rafa's Liverpool..and again, for all his time there, everyone said "dont play the long ball to Crouch, he needs it to his feet". YOU ARE BEING A MONG YOU FUCKING MONG. WHY ARE YOU SUCH A MONG???

    I'm not sure I do

Arsenal are having a better season that Aston Villa, and I would say they have a better squad than them too. But I fail to see what this has to do with Arsenal's continued mediocre performances and luck with refereeing decisions.

You are leaving out what should be our no 1 priority IMO: CB!

I'd repeat what i said the other day, i think what we do in this position in the summer will have a great effect on how our season is going to pan out.

I'd not only get 1 but 2. Gallas is gone IMO, we should ditch Silvestre, Campbell is OK but I'd sell unless he's willing to be 4th/5th choice - he'll get slower, less agile, etc by the day.

I wanted a CM last summer but not anymore, just drop Rosicky or Nasri back in midfield if need be - that's their best position after all.

Chamach would be good as he can play on the wings too.

I'd get a new goalie too.

I see a new joker has joined in Very Happy

It almost seems unfair that only three teams can get relegated this season, there are some truly appalling teams in this league at the moment. Unbelievable how poor Burnley have been.

Arsenal were crap and got lucky, but Wolves didn't deserve anything from the game either. Wenger's team selection was difficult to justify, but at least we got the three points.

And u think he's going to stay fit for most of the season when he returns? I don't!

Plus there's this matter of not knowing whether he'll perform to the required standard when he returns.

I wouldn't get anyone in midfield; for the holding role we can play Song, Denilson, Diaby, Eastmond(looked very promising) there.

Arsenal need a defensive coach. You don't press the ball enough when you don't have the ball. Or know how to switch defensive roles between players.

Not sure about the defensive coach bit, but Khadrim the amount of times we've talked about pressing the ball this season has been ridiculous. We done it very well until RVP got injured, but it seemed to stop after that. Why, I don't know?

There really isn't a tactical way for us to play at the moment. Shaz mentioned it the other night. There are ways certain team press or set up tactically then you have Arsenal. We don't really seem to have a tactic apart from keep posession and try to create chances. When it doesn't work though there's no real alternative.

It's definitely a major flaw in our game, and i'm suprised we haven't addressed it.

    ok

    Very good observation.

I was thinking the other day, it would have been to have someone as Roy Hodgson as part of our coaching staff mainly for CL games, but he's too good for that role anyway.

Fulham defend very well - probably the best in the PL.

Continuing the scouting on Barca, Chygrynsky, who will be one of the replacements for Puyol and Pique, look well off pace. Athletic are a big strong team and they'll give Barca as hard a time as possible. And also Barca have the Clasico to think about for next weekend.
