Re: Internazionale vs Barcelona
Despite how impressive Inter were in the first leg i think it would be far to presumptuous to write Barcelona out of this tie. They are a class act and capable of running riot over any team at the Nou Camp. Snejdder would be a massive miss for Inter if the rumours are true, as he is essentially the puppet-master who pulls the strings for Mourinho's side. Whatever happens it promises to be a cracking encounter - and i think the winner of the Champions League will come from this game.

Yup, I agree. This tie is far from over. Inter will have to repeat performance in a very hostile environment to ensure passage, and thats easier said than done against this Barca side. IMO this Barca said is the best club side I have seen since Milan of the "flying dutchmen". It won't be easy.

Inter's Wesley Sneijder Wins Fitness Battle & Will Play Against Barcelona
Good news for Inter as Sniejder makes the grade...
By Salvatore Landolina
Inter playmaker Wesley Sneijder is back in training, fit and ready to play against Barcelona in the Champions League, according to Sky Sport 24.
There were fears the Dutch midfielder would have to miss the game because of a muscular strain he picked up against Atalanta on Saturday. He was substituted 45 minutes into the Nerazzurri's 3-1 win.
It meant Sneijder was unable to train on Sunday and Monday, having sessions with the club physiotherapist instead.
But he is now ready to start after returning to full training on Tuesday. Sneijder performed various drills with the team under Jose Mourinho's eyes.
The squad will travel to Barcelona from Milan this afternoon, boarding a flight at 15:00. Dejan Stankovic, who is suspended, will also be included in the squad.
Mario Balotelli is expected to head to Spain, despite last week's antics in the semi-final first leg. He trained with the squad today as well.

Re: Internazionale vs Barcelona
Actually Sneijder & Balotelli being in the squad does not mean they are fit to play... coz Mou has also named the injured Toldo & Santon, and the suspended Stankovic in the squad

Re: Internazionale vs Barcelona
Yeah, there's a lot of hype by the players and the club's media department, trying to get the fans pumped for the game.
That in itself reflects the Camp Nou's usual noise level. You shouldn't really need to wear some cheesy tshirts and launch a campaign to get fans excited about a CL semifinal.
No doubt if Inter get an early goal or Barça get frustrated in breaking down the parked bus, the fans will go quiet again through their nervousness.
But people need to realise that part of the reason for the lack of atmosphere at Camp Nou is the nature of the crowd - there are always a lot of tourists, a lot of families, women, young kids, older men. It reflects the history of the club as the "social club" for Catalunya. It's not the usual collection of alcohol-fuelled mid-20s/30s males, which always makes for a much louder and more crazy atmosphere.
Plus there's a culture - and this is at Madrid too - of "the team is the one that should entertain us, it's not our job to get them playing better".

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for families women, kids and co goging to the stadium rather than the more louder "barra-bravas" we have over here or "ultras" in Spain.
Barça are right to try to get the fans pumped as you say, specially after the 1st leg. But surely Inter fans are exaggerating it a bit. Certainly there's no reason to fear the Camp Nou's crowd...just as there's no reason to go crazy about whether (dutch)midget playing or not is some portuguese's mastermind's all along

Mou has revealed nine players who will be starting the match tomorrow in his press-conference, and they are: Julio Cesar, Lucio, Maicon, Samuel, Zanetti, Cambiasso, Sneijder, Eto'o and Milito. The other two will probably be Thiago Motta and Goran Pandev.

Anyone know the disciplinary situation for this game? ie. who will miss the final if they get a yellow card tonight?

Yup, that list makes me nevous!! Bayern will have no one suspended as far as I can see. Specially if Inter go through, we will sure have half our defence missing for the final
Barcelona v Inter Milan
Suspended: Carles Puyol (Barcelona), Dejan Stankovic (Inter Milan)
Misses next match if booked: Daniel Alves, Gerard Pique (Barcelona), Walter Samuel, Maicon, Javier Zanetti, Samuel Eto'o (all Inter Milan)

Re: Internazionale vs Barcelona
I am surprisingly not confident at all. I can easily see Barca overturning this lead, infact I wouldn't be too surprised if Braca are 2 up within 30 minutes, considering the slow starts we have been having of late. But a lot depends on Inter's response, we are capable of getting a satisfactory result... so its a game one MUST watch, ANYTHING can happenkas wrote:Bluenine, Abundance, what are your predictions for tonight? What does worry me is the card situation.... and also I have this bad feeling that Samuel is going to get sent off... I dunno why, but I remember that this ref goes by reputation, and this season Samuel hasn't done his rep a lot of good. If we go down to 10, its over.
If I have to make a prediction, its 1-0 (but it could easily be 2-0 or 2-1). The good bit is that Inter go thru in 2 of these 3 most likely outcomes...

Barcelona Fans Attack Inter Coach Jose Mourinho - Report
Mourinho escaped unhurt following a fan attack...
By Salvatore Landolina
Inter coach Jose Mourinho was left stunned and shaken after Barcelona fans attacked the vehicle he was travelling in on Tuesday night, according to Il Corriere dello Sport. Mourinho got into a vehicle laid on by UEFA following his pre-match press conference, but he did not get very far. A group of Barcelona fans waiting outside marauded down the street and caught up with the car.
Once there, they started to spit and kick at it, punching windows, throwing cans, bottles and cigarette packets as the coach looked on from inside. At one point, fans on both sides of the vehicle started to rock it in an attempt to topple it over onto its side.
Luckily, the local police were quick to intervene and they dispersed the crowd, leaving a stunned Mourinho to proceed with his journey. It was the second attack within hours, after a previous one when Inter players were heckled at the airport. Security has been stepped up with bodyguards stationed at every entrance and exit of the Inter team hotel.

Re: Internazionale vs Barcelona
Yes, that's what I predict too...a 1-0 or 2-1 to Barça, and definitely at least one red card to someone. It's a very difficult task to overturn a 3-1 result, and we may see a frustrating night where Barça huff and puff but eventually get nothing more than a "false hope" goal.
Today reminds me of the 2nd leg of the Liverpool tie in 2007 - I won't really be too disappointed if we don't go through, because IMO the tie was lost in the 1st leg, and so the disappointment has already subsided. Hope I'm wrong though

Players getting heckled at the airport is hardly an "attack"
But yeah, there was also a group of "fans" that tried to create a disturbance at Inter's hotel at around 1am or so last night.
All this is a reflection of not just Barça's hatred for Mourinho, but the desperation to reach the final at the Bernabeu. As Mourinho said, it's an obsession and has been talked about since the day immediately after last year's final.
