Good tackle by Chivu. The Dutch commentators are really awful, even implying that Chivu should've gotten at the very least gotten booked. Laughing

Some serious Messi nuthugging here on TV. No

    twelve-man Barca 0-0 ten-man Inter

as a football match it's over, I just hope there's some really nasty tackles and more controversial refereeing in the 2nd half.

There was never this volume of poor decisions a few years ago, certainly not regarding incorrect red cards anyway. Refs don't seem to understand what the word violent means in the violent conduct rule. They all seem to jump straight into their top pocket every time some form of out of the ordinary contact takes place. As Kimmy keeps saying it is barely a contact sport anymore. You aren't even allow to touch Messi without getting a yellow card.

It's amazing what a red card will do for you -

Inter came to park the bus,

have a men (wrongly) sent off after committing 7 fouls in 10 minutes,

    park the bus even more,

and now it's Barca who are the ones "killing" the game.

    Laugh

I had some hope, but not anymore - don't see Barca scoring twice in 2nd half. The only thing I am waiting for, is Julio Cesar getting deservedly sent off for time wasting Wink

Hate the fact that already anti-Barca posters here forgot about refereeing mistakes in 1st game, costing Barca 2 goals deficit.

    Barca anti-football tactics - Doh

our main problem with being a man down is that sneijder and milito are on a low on stamina at this point of the season.
they both look like they already played 120 mins, not 45

Whateva happens tonight, we have lost Milito & Sneijder for the critical game agianst Lazio in the weekend.... they have both looked fatigued last week or two, and this game will take double its toll out of them....

Again, think of the ref's perspective: Messi is running at full speed, Chivu makes a tackle from behind (something outlawed by FIFA a few years ago, even if the player gets the ball), and there's an element of cynicism to it because Messi was away from Chivu and in a pocket of space.

It's definitely a foul, the question is the card. I can understand if it's not a yellow, but it's not surprising that the 50-50 goes the way of the home team. Not the first and last time it's happened in the history of football.

Timewasting from Julio Cesar in the very the 1st minute, Maicon's injury faking...and yet it's purely Barça that are being portrayed as villains here Rolling Eyes
