Honduras are playing possum BIG TIME. They've got a Colombian coach named Rueda from the old Maturana school. He goes into games with a 'I know nothing' look in his face just like when Maturana thrashed Argentina 0-5 in Buenos Aires. I know these c**ts's tricks, LRD.

Watch out with Honduras against España.

Seems that they played two matches the same nights fully utilising their squad, seemed fairly balanced as well. Against NI, they have the likes of Mati, Isla + Vidal and against Israel Valdivia, Sanchez + Suazo.

It's interesting to see these days, that Iniesta is playing deeper than Febragas - Iniesta is playing as CM, and Fabregas as AM/SS. Cesc hit the bar, but at the end of 1st half Reina did well with double save. Cameras were showing Valdes, so I'm assuiming he will play in 2nd half.

I actually think Iniesta's best position is CM, and yes, with Fabregas I too would have him as the deeper player. For me, two of Iniesta's most impressive performances came as (effectively) a DM against Milan + Benfica in the CL, where he absolutely bossed the games. Now I'm not advocating him playing as a DM, was he was only played there due to lack of other options, but he definitely mature enough, and actually well suited to play as a deep lying CM.

yeah, Spain is quite toothless today, they barely created any chances.
Btw, now they have Martinez, Xabi Alonso and Xavi playing together, Martinez is DM, Xabi is CM and Xavi is AM/SS, although he plays significantly deeper than Febragas did before him.

Edit: Poor goalkeeping against cross by Valdes and Korean nr 14 almost scored after a header.

South Korea are pretty good at parking the bus, could reach the last 16 with some luck from their set pieces.

Their set pieces were decent too, although it's maybe because of Spain not looking too convincing defending them.

1:0 is final result, boring game, Spain was playing way too slow, to be able to beat Korea defense more aften. They weren't also playing to Llorente strength, not enough direct playing from Mata and Navas to utilize his size and heading ability. He's a decent footballer too, but he is supposed to offer Spain NT something else - so when he is on the pitch, I would prefer them to try and use it (but it's maybe because of me currently managing Bilbao in FM...).

Spain-Poland tonight - interesting games for us, we did well against Finland and Serbia, except for not converting our chances. Today, even if we will come out with typical attacking approach for all teams managed by Franciszek Smuda, we will be defending for 89 minutes probably, so it will be a good lesson.

I hope that Spain won't regret playing against us, because we are very aggressive under Smuda (match against Serbia was full of tough tackles) and with players getting hurt before WC everywhere, it's something that unfortunately can't be ruled out...
