Says a lot that Kuyt starts today and de Jong yesterday but neither of our boys can make it.

Diaby is going to have to be really disciplined in the middle for us to get anything today, what an opportunity this is for Wilshere to stamp his mark on our first team squad.

Cesc has a chest infection apparently. I'm not expecting anything and if we get a point that'll be a bonus. The result doesn't matter too much at this stage of the season, what's important is how we finish.

Cesc didn't travel apparently. No idea why he isn't fit enough, de Jong played to the WC final and actually played regularly, and he was fine to play yesterday, but Cesc isn't ready to start for us.

Staggering how we can have so many players missing already in the centre of midfield, how have they all managed to get injured, most of them didn't (or barely) played during the World Cup?!

Wasnt there a rumour that Cesc stayed on Mexico to do some sight seeing.

Not sure how true it is though...

Bit worried about that Wilshere may be a "rabbit caught in the headlights". Ill be optimistic though. Nasir and Diaby and the rest of the team need to be on fire for us to get anything.

Maybe Eboue will play quite narrowly to give us a bit more presence in the centre...

Its also nice to see how Wenger has stuck to his policy of not throwing in new signings at the deep end .

I guess his stuborness on the transfer market trumphed this.

Sheff, we are missing Ramsey and Djourou. Song and Rosicky are on the bench and Denilson got injured during pre season and is still presumably short on fitness. We haven't been exactly annihilated in midfield.

Gerrard is playing the best I have ever seen him in CM position shows he is a master of that one position if he wants to be Rather than being expected to do everything up front also..... Best player easy.
