Contrary to all previous stories of a loan deal...a Marca journalist is now claiming that a permanent transfer will be done. A fee of between 25-30m euros, with Borriello in exchange.
Still many questions to be answered, esp. with regards to Ibra's wages. I'll be shocked if Milan can afford that (12m a year) *and* pay a pretty sizeable transfer fee. Let's see what news the next few hours bring.
But if that is indeed the deal that is struck, I wouldn't complain. Borriello can remain on the bench all season for all I care, but financially it's a pretty good deal for Barça.
Based on what I've read, in a strict accounting sense, we wouldn't make too much of a loss, because Ibra was valued at 45m (Etoo was counted as a free transfer), and had a 4 year contract. So approx. 10-11m was already amortized last year, meaning we'd about break even on the transfer. And gain a huge benefit in getting his wages off the books.
But as I said, let's see....still just rumours for now.
