Gotta give credit to Blackburn, they have been good. Edging it for me. Samba has been awesome.

Blackburn are actually doing a good job, mainly because EH Diouf has decided to turn up. Arshavin doesn't look bad, he's just not in the game much considering how much space there is on his side, and RVP is of course broken once more. I'm hoping for Olsson as a supersub and Diaby to start running with the ball.

Tottenham TEAM NEWS - Harry Redknapp makes two changes to Wednesday's win against Young Boys with Carlo Cudicini replacing injured Heurelho Gomes in goal and Younes Kaboul in at right-back for Vedran Corluka.
STARTING XI - Cudicini; Kaboul, Dawson, King, Assou-Ekotto; Lennon, Huddlestone, Palacios, Bale; Crouch, Defoe.
SUBS - Alnwick, Bassong, Giovani, Kranjcar, Keane, Pavlyuchenko.
Only six subs? Hope there's one more there, guess Jenas is on bench if he haven't picked up a late injury

Wasn't Defoe meant to be off to surgery once you's played in the CL midweek!?

It'll be Jenas, we all know he's good at being invisible.

It's been put on hold, Defoe says he doesn't feel anything to the injury anymore, they'll wait and see how he feels after the Wigan game.

Blackburn played a stupid game. It may have looked effective because we failed to clear the ball a lot but they never really did much with all their long balls. In particular Koscielny proved as the match went on that he is very competent at aerial balls but he hasn't really proven he can deal with balls on the ground. In fact, their goal came from his mistake of not dealing with Diouf's dribbling (could and should have slide tackled it away). They should have definitely targeted him on the ground more.
Anyway, good win overall. Poor performances from Cesc and Song (passing). Diaby is a double edged sword. His dribbling and power really help us in games like this but then he also reduces the speed of our passing game very noticeably. I hope for home and bigger games Rosicky or Nasri are chosen ahead of him.
Van Persie, hope he's Ok...

Just glad we got the three points, as Skysports said before kick-off - Allardyce has never lost a home league game against us in seven years.
Hope van Persie's injury isn't that serious. * crossed fingers *

Ah, Wenger just said that it is a twisted ankle for van Persie. No idea what that means in terms of recovery time.

I hate watching us against Thugburn. Just far too stressful. They are worse than Bolton under Allardyce as Bolton had some more reasonably class players then, but this lot are a collection of hoofers and thugs. I would like to have Pedersen smothered with his own bloody towel.
However pleasing to see us get over our vulnerabilities and, in 2H, get one over Thugburn when Chamakh was introduced and he was all over Samba . I understand why VanP started but you saw the advantage of having Cham straight away, winning every header. Koscielny had a torrid time against Diouf in 1H but that'll have been a good learning experience. Think Shaz is a bit harsh re. Cesc and Song - esp with Cesc in terms of where he is in terms of match fitness I think he did well. Arshavin continued on his own little mercurial way though he was a lot better in 2H.
AW said VanP has a twisted ankle and if there are no further complications, he should be ok in 8 -10 days. At least he'll miss the international break.
One difficult away match over and done with. Two home matches vs Bolton and Braga after the international break.

Awful tackle by Shawcross on Malouda - just terrible - and Lampard misses the resulting pen.
EDIT: should have said the penalty was saved. Very weak shot by Lampard and easily saved.
