7 points for Man Utd without any red cards against, first time since 2006 that's happened.

Only needed 2 penalties and 1 OG in that time too.

It's not often that I find myself agreeing with words which have come from the mouth of Arsene Wenger, but he was absolutely right in his analysis of Stoke (as are the other 50+ million regular Premier League watchers who have probably said this at some point) - horrible, talentless team. I think Shawcross has been watching too much footage from the Tri Nations.

Meanwhile, Tony Pulis had the nerve to write a letter of complaint about Wenger's comments lol!

    http://football365.com/story/0,17033,8652_6344591,00.html

Stoke manager Tony Pulis accused Arsene Wenger of being "out of order" over the Arsenal manager's criticism of defender Ryan Shawcross.

He revealed Stoke have written an official letter of complaint to the Gunners and also sent copies to the Premier League and the Football Association.

The row surrounds Wenger's comments earlier this week accusing the Stoke centre-back of turning football into rugby.

The Arsenal boss was fuming with Shawcross in February after his horror tackle left Aaron Ramsey with a sickening leg break - an injury the Wales midfielder is still recovering from.

His latest attack on Shawcross came after he was incensed by what he claimed were more rough tactics from the defender during Stoke's 2-1 defeat at home to Tottenham last Saturday.

Wenger commented: "You cannot say it is football any more. It is more rugby on the goalkeepers than football.

"When you see the way Shawcross kicked Heurelho Gomes, how Robert Huth pushed Gomes in the goal, you cannot say that is football anymore."

Pulis said: "The club is desperately disappointed with the comments which Wenger has come out with, especially the comments about Shawcross. We think they are out of order and you don't expect it from a person of Wenger's esteem.

"The club will deal with it in the right and proper manner."

The referee in the Tottenham match, Chris Foy, was the same referee who officiated in Arsenal's match against Blackburn.

When the issue was put to Pulis he said: "To say he was doing it as a sidetrack to influence the referee, you've said it. I've just agreed with you."

Pulis continued: "He's entitled to his opinion. We've fought two world wars to be a free country. We've all got different opinions and we must let people say what they say. Whether you agree with it or disagree with it, that's a different matter.

"What he said about Ryan was very, very poor and the football club will take that matter up."

Pulis also revealed goalkeeper Asmir Begovic would be staying at Stoke. Begovic was reported to have refused to play against Shrewsbury in the Carling Cup in midweek and had been linked with Chelsea.

But Pulis said: "He's young and naive and he's had his knuckles rapped. People make mistakes especially when they are young. We'll do our damnedest to keep Begovic at Stoke City."

If his problem was purely that Wenger made these comments to try and influence the ref (same one as Stoke had) for the upcoming game against Blackburn (arguably similar style), then I can understand it. But otherwise it's pathetic to try and deny that Stoke aren't more of a rugby team than a football team.

    lol!

What the hell does that have to do with Stoke? If he's got time to waste writing idiotic letters he should be doing something about the fact that his pathetic excuse of a team have zero points after 3 matches.

All you need to do is watch Shawcross' "challenge" on Malouda (for the 1st penalty) to see that the comments from Wenger about Shawcross were not out of order.

I don't think Stoke will go down - but a big part of that is down to Sorenson IMO. They didn't have much of a threat - especially if you compare their midfield (one screamer against the bar aside) to how all our players had the drive to score and win and perform their responsibilities. Terry and Cole were fantastic getting forward and were still back when it mattered.

Ashley Cole has been in phenomenal form (for Chelsea at least) for the last 18 months. Rarely has a bad game, his crossing has improved beyond all recognition and his shooting isn't bad either (as seen with the volley which was unfortunate not to go in).

Real Madrid can keep their hands well away from him Evil or Very Mad
