Messi makes it 4-0 and 5-0 with finishes from the left corner, after superb, pacy runs with his classic close control. Just an incredible player. Great performance from the team. Looks like the 3-4-3 is ok to play at Camp Nou.

Because the reason you are able to have the high pressure is that when you win it then you keep the ball for nine million years and allow your players time to recover. Imagine you have, say, Lass and Khedira in midfield. You win it with intense pressure, you give it away almost immediately, and you have to repeat the high pressure. The players would not be able to sustain it. As it is you lot keep the ball for 70% of the match so you really don't have that many instances when you need to employ the high pressure.

Laudrup has resigned as manager of Mallorca. Inevitable given his hatred of Serra Ferrer.

Caparros the initial favourite to take over.

So the pen!s says goodbye. I think Super has said this before but he really has made some bizarre decisions as far as his managerial career.

Trio of draws so far today:

Villarreal 2-2 Zaragoza (saw bits and pieces of the game...the Villarreal fans are starting to get restless now)
    Osasuna 2-2 Mallorca
    Racing 1-1 Rayo

Canales has scored a great goal to give Valencia an early lead over Granada.
