Messi makes it 4-0 and 5-0 with finishes from the left corner, after superb, pacy runs with his classic close control. Just an incredible player. Great performance from the team. Looks like the 3-4-3 is ok to play at Camp Nou.

Because the reason you are able to have the high pressure is that when you win it then you keep the ball for nine million years and allow your players time to recover. Imagine you have, say, Lass and Khedira in midfield. You win it with intense pressure, you give it away almost immediately, and you have to repeat the high pressure. The players would not be able to sustain it. As it is you lot keep the ball for 70% of the match so you really don't have that many instances when you need to employ the high pressure.

Laudrup has resigned as manager of Mallorca. Inevitable given his hatred of Serra Ferrer.
Caparros the initial favourite to take over.

So the pen!s says goodbye. I think Super has said this before but he really has made some bizarre decisions as far as his managerial career.

Osasuna 2-2 Mallorca
Racing 1-1 Rayo
Canales has scored a great goal to give Valencia an early lead over Granada.

They're saying 3 weeks, so I reckon he'll be back after the int'l break along with Iniesta.

Some other good goals in the Malaga game too. One from Mourinho's favourite Pedro Leon, and an RVN special from 2 yards out.

Re: La Liga 2011/12 Season Thread
Halftime in the Basque derby...Llorente's goal giving Athletic a 0-1 lead over Real Sociedad. Pity this game is at 12pm CET, would have been a great night atmosphere.
Edit: Athletic win 2-1. 2nd important win in a row for Bielsa, coming after their Europa League win over moneybags PSG on Thursday night. Also interesting to note that Llorente got the 2 goals, a player who everyone thought would be the main victim of Bielsa's tactics.
It'll be nice if Bielsa succeeds and stays to build a project at Athletic. They have a decent squad, and with his additional tactical acumen, could really cause problems for Madrid and Barça. Along with Malaga proving to be the real deal, and Valencia starting strong, it will add more depth to La Liga.

Sevilla creating some great chances against Atletico, but unable to score.
----------------------
No Puyol nor Pique, Marca has the formation like this:
Valdés
Alves, Mascherano, Abidal
Xavi, Busquets, Thiago, Adriano
Pedro, Villa, Messi
But I reckon it might be like this:
Valdés
Mascherano, Busquets, Abidal
Alves, Xavi, Thiago, Adriano
Pedro, Villa, Messi

Falcao misses a couple of easy chances. Maybe he isn't better than Messi after all.

Re: La Liga 2011/12 Season Thread
Team is playing shit since the 35th min of the first half. Too many sloppy touches.
Now Abidal is injured. FFS when did this club turn into Arsenal. Fucking bullshit Pep, sort it out.
Edit: 75 mins gone and it's still utter dross. Terrible performance, a combination of CL fatigue and the 3-4-3 not really working well away from home. Guardiola has switched back to 4-3-3 now, so hopefully they can just hang on to this result and forget about it.

1-0 Higuain
This is the clinical finishing that we have come to know of Higuain. If Benzema had half the confidence infront of goal he would alredy be one of the best strikers in the world.
