Can is knackered and replaced by Khedira. Hope the team can hold on to the lead without him in the remaining time.

Jesus. Again a gift after a corner. Can't believe it. 2-2.
Now it's going to be extremely difficult without Can and Aycicek.

A bitter and avoidable defeat, we could have easily won this match. But congrats to Mexico, deserved win.
Either way, valuable experience for the kids, especially in such a hostile environment.

congrat mexico. Couldn't watch the game because it was a tad late, but mexico is a likeable country with football tradition. Let's see if they can shake up "real" tournaments too.

Re: U17's World Cup Mexico
they deserved the win, they clearly had some advantages in the 2nd half in terms of fitness
more important
CAN is a facking matthäus and maradona in one person
i think in u17 level trophys not the most important thing, experience and the believe that you can competete with the best is more important, and this will keep the boys hungry, and they will learn from this
also brasil-germany at 22:00 is more likeable to me^^
CAN 2:15

Dominating and humiliating 17 year olds is on the edge of legality anyway. So bring on the seniors

That Aztec Warrior Gómez is something else! That second goal had to go in no matter what. If blood had to be spilled, fuck it, loads of it but that ball had to go in Germany's goal.
Then he comes back for the last minutes of the game looking more like a fucking mummy than a footballer and scores the winning goal with a Chalaca.

Great end-to-end stuff between Germany and Brazil in the 3rd place match. Germany up 4-3 after being down 1-3. About 25 minutes to go. Lots of talent on display.

THE FUCK!
Germany has played pussy-football, lots of Turcos behind the ball and counter-attacking Brasil. DO NOT BELIEVE ME! Check out the highlights, all the krauts's goals have been counter-attacks and one from a silly Brazuca mistake from a German throw-in.

So Germany does beat Brazil in a thrilling match coming back from two goals down in the heat of Mexico City, but it's still not valid?
You're so stereotypically South American that it's just plain sad.

Sad? you wanna know what's sad? YOU stated that it was an end-to-end match when in fact you were playing your usual pussy-football.
It's no sin playing pussy-football, but at least be honest about how the game played out. YOU attacked me calling me "stereo typical South American" whatever the fuck that means to you, 'Peon, instead of arguing your "end-to-end" bullshite with me.
The possession had to be around 60%-40% to Brasil, shots I counted over twenty for Brasil, perhaps ten for Germany. Corner kicks Brasil probably tripled Germanys.
Here's to "End-to-end".

Re: U17's World Cup Mexico
What does possession have to do with end-to-end football? The Germans needed three passes to get to your goal, so what? It was going back and forth for a while until it slowed down in the end and the Germans defended their lead.
Shots were 16-12 in favor of Brazil, but only 5 were on target. Whoop-de-doo.
Objectivity.

Re: U17's World Cup Mexico
In other news, Mexico won the final vs Uruguay 2-0.
I think the commentator during the 3rd place match said that this means Germany has lost to the eventual champion each of the last four times they played in the tournament. Huh.
Anyway, congrats to Mexico.

Re: U17's World Cup Mexico
i just finished watching the game, only the goals and the begin of the 2nd half
i have to say
the individual class in this team is extraordinary
after the half time germany dominated them, so they can do it if they have to do, not just wait for counters
for the future they should concentrate of keeping more often the ball, in almost every game germany had less than 50 % ball possession me thinks, thats really not a joy for an supporter, i dont like this philosophy

Re: U17's World Cup Mexico
The best thing about losing the semi to Mexico was playing Brazil for third place. I would have loved to have a Brazil - Germany final, as I wrote earlier, but that was not meant to be. However, the match would have clearly been worthy of a final, excellent football, end to end stuff on a remarkably high level considering the age group. German teams don't play Brazil often, let alone competitive matches, so experience against them is really valuable.
And beating them fair and square is even better, these kids will grow up knowing that they came back from two goals and beat their Brazilian counterparts. Not in a friendly, but in a competitive match. Just like quite a few of our youth teams beat Italy regularly these days (been a while that they actually lost to an Italian team on the youth level btw.), this should and will have consequences for the senior team in the long run, too.
As I said, the bogey teams will be beaten, I'm quite confident about that, but new ones may emerge. Time will tell.
As far as the team is concerned, Yesil, Can and Weiser are the standout attacking players who should have a very good chance to make it in the long run. All of them are very skillful and have everything necessary to succeed in football these days. A number of the defenders look promising, too, Günter for example. Predictions are more difficult to make there. But generally speaking, this age group has quite a few players who could make it big.
