Why is it not interesting? For starters, it was quite surprising (the Dalglish part, not the Hodgson part). And it also has the potential to stir debate on a variety of different points. Hence, interesting.

We've already been through this a thousand times last year Kas. Did you think that by posting misleading stats that it would reopen a debate that died it's painful death long ago?

Oh, I see, it died "it's" "painful death long ago". The debate is over, finished, resolved, case solved, never to be resurrected.

It turns out to be true, no other set of fans toes the party line quite so obediently Rolling Eyes

    All hail King Jol Ale

We should actually be discussing the fact that at the beginning of the season North London was - rightly - deemed a bit of a joke, whilst Kenny's revolutionaries had 4th place sewn up.

Now Arsenal have won 6 of their last 7, whilst Spurs have taken 16 from 18 points since the Manchester debacles. Liverpool have just dropped 2 points at home to Norwich.

Are we now in agreement that spending money on Downing, Henderson, Carroll and Enrique does not guarantee CL football for the Reds? Someone needs to tell this to Oliver Holt of the Daily Mirror Ale

I have been spying on Liverpool fans seeing what they think of the Jagermonster, and Holt's opinion is hardly rare. They seem to think CL is the MINIMUM their squad is capable of. Liverpool fans seem to have huge expectations for this season.

Feel free to go through the results yourself Allez, taking out results against FC Mountain goat herders of Moldova and see what conclusion you reach

Hint we've already done this numerous times last season

Dalglish had a vastly superior record in league last year. As Glenn has pointed out it is vastly superior this year. What is there to talk about here?

If Dalglish is to be attacked on anything it should be the signing of Carroll combined with the shipping out of Aquilani and Meireles, but again us party line toers have already discussed this on numerous occasions.

Great email on F365 that should raise a smile even from, nay, ESPECIALLY from Kimbo. Surely. The fella does talk sense.

    On Newcastle
How come Spurs are unbeaten in 6 and may sneak 3rd yet Newcastle are unbeaten all season and no one considers us? Is it because we are plucky? Or is it because we came up the season before last (therefore lack pedigree)? Or because we have not played anyone decent (very condescending to the other PREMIER LEAGUE teams we've played)?

Admittedly, my righteous indignation well be well and truly shattered once Man U, Many City and Chelsea have finished smacking our bottoms like the naughty scamps we are, but until then, bow to our might you mere mortals! Pards is all up in your grill (lol!) (I think I heard that on BBC 3 or something).

We were singing 'We're Newcastle and we're goning to win the league' on Saturday and the last time we did that we did! So there, you've been warned!

why do all Newcastle fans think it's ok to wander around shirtless and have an ugly wife/girlfriend?

why do all Germany fans think it's ok to keep their daughters locked in a makeshift dungeon?

why do all Tottenham fans think it's ok for me to have repeated anal sex with their sister before sending video footage to Jeremy Beadle in order to win £250?

    @Allez, Kimbo, Twerp and co

It's not that there is a party line as such, it's that you're asking entry level questions to Liverpool fans who have already had these debates and more often than not there is either 1 answer or none. The Hodgson/Dalglish comparison is and has been ongoing and there isn't any way you can spin it to make sacking Hodgson look like a bad idea, when something is so black and white can you really call it a party line?

    Will Andy Carroll come good?

It depends if he gets a run in the team or not or if Dalglish has accepted he was wrong to purchase him like Rafa did with Robbie Keane and then try and sell him to Spurs in January for around £25 million. If a striker is doing poorly he's not going to improve by sitting on the bench. Torres is a great example; Villas-Boas could easily have dropped him from the team but the faith he's shown looks to be paying off as week by week he's getting better and scoring goals again.

Personally I don't think he'll ever justify the price we paid. If we got him the right service he could score goals with a bit more confidence but at the moment he has none and he isn't going to get any by sitting next to Jay Spearing on the bench.

Can Adam and Gerrard play together?

Yes, but not in a two man central midfield. The suspension of Lucas upset the balance a bit because both like to get forward. Gerrard is still getting his fitness back and I thought Adam had a pretty good game.

Does Suarez know how to shoot?

Not sure what this means. He would have had 2 goals but for brilliant goal-keeping and the post. Suarez is doing just fine. He dives too much but other than that he's an absolute pest and by far our best player. We need more players like this.

    Jordan Henderson?

I don't know what the question is here but Henderson is a useful squad player due to his versatility. Again, we overpaid but it's not an issue for me.

Debaser, stop asking poor Luis such confusing questions.

I think the issue raised with Suarez, is that whilst its great to watch him slalom through the defence, it is a shame if he then hits the ball wide. Could be the difference between him being an extremely good player and one of the best players in the world.

I don't consider Hutton an Aston Villa player as he has yet to do anything resembling playing football for Aston Villa. Having him on the pitch is more punishment than having him removed Wink

Hutton's problem at Spurs wasn't that he couldn't play football - was never a Cafu-like World Beater, but as far as the recent crop of Scotch footballers go, he's been one of the most technically adept - it was that he had zero tactical nous.

Seems big 'Eck has somehow managed to transform him into a talentless hoofer. Like he's done with N'Zogbia.

You need rid of ginger disgrace, then you may see what Hutton is capable of.

All he seems capable of is running very slowly, tackling very badly, positioning very poorly and returning possession to the opposition whenever he passes or crosses. Not the worst culprit in the team for hoofing (hello, James Collins) but just not good at anything in either defence or attack.

I suspect he is still not match fit, having been benched & injured much of the last couple of years but he seems a wholly stupid signing, esp considering the big drive to save wages. He's on less than L.Young, but we're now stuck with him for 4 years, whereas Young only had a year left. Even with letting Young go, we should've just gone with Cuellar/Beye/Lichaj/Herd this season and then signed someone next summer when the first two have their contracts up.

Zog isn't hoofing, he just constantly runs into blind alleys and makes the wrong decision when he gets the ball. I don't rate McLeish but not sure we can put everything on him - he hasn't got the attacking working well by any means, but some players (Gabby & Bannan) are managing to have positive impact, others are not.

Hodgson is a highly disingenuous manager. I defended him a bit last season from the Liver fans, but I realize now he probably didn't deserve it. That post-match interview was horrible. The self-righteous tone as he condemned the 'stamping' as if he had clearly seen it himself. The lie that they'd been on top before the Herd red card, when Villa were 1-0 up and comfortable. Urgh.
