Don't give up on football just yet mate because to be honest Spurs aren't that good tonite as well, and remember you're losing Parker Bale and VdV.

I didn't know that Krancjar are on the bench. Why didn't Redknapp play him as a winger and put Modric in his regular position?

Spurs fans, would you say that 'arry's mind hasn't been on his job for the last couple of weeks? Not so much today but I was quite struck by how disinterested he looked last weekend even when you were leading.

That's just the usual "not wanting to get too carried away" stuff a lot of managers do..

    Tottenham's performance Doh

Gotta give it up to Man Utd for getting these kind of victories although City's win at the same ground was more impressive.

defensive performance you mean. There was little wrong with how we've played in the other areas of the pitch. We dominated the ball and the chances, that's what's so bloody predictable. Can't really ask for more than to not then conceded 3 disgustingly soft goals. Its like we enjoy giving United points every season.

And Citys win was at a time the team was still in disarray and Modric threatening to walk . Very different circumstances

That's the point though. We re almost certainly never going to get a chance this good again to beat United. This isn't knee jerk , I've watched us go 3 nil up against united and lose 5 3, Pedro Mendes goal not given, go 2 nil up away and lose 5 2. it crushes your soul , especially when your brother is a Man United supporter as is with me. I want to go into hibernation for a week to avoid his smirking face Laughing

Defoe shoots better than the other two forwards from outside the box. If playing 2 forwards does it not make sense to play him?

Young has a sweet right foot for scoring from the left.

Really big win for Utd this. Looking at their fixtures now they have a piss-easy run up until their trip to Man City on 30th April. It's gonna go down to that one and I reckon Utd might be ahead by then, as City have more potential banana-skins (trips to Norwich, Arsenal, Stoke, Swansea).

Credit to United. They're the best team in the league at playing crap and winning. They be done it so many times that its also why so many people hate them. There is no conspiracy, they are just excellent at converting their chances.

Its why they're champions, as their fans, like my brother, keep telling us.

City have been the better team this season, but where United are concerned that means Fuck all. Today great point in hand. Few clubs are going to beat then when they still win games like this which they've played so badly in.

Does anybody else think Spurs aren't guaranteed 4th yet?

Next 5 fixtures, admittedly all the fixtures after that look like easy ones.

    Everton v Tottenham

    Tottenham v Stoke

    Chelsea v Tottenham

    Tottenham v Swansea

    Sunderland v Tottenham

Spurs will 100% finish in the top 4. Arsenal will be confident they can finish 3rd now; still a hell of a lot of points to play for but Chelsea will only spiral further downwards for me. Can't see di Matteo galvanising them to improve really.

From those fixtures Spurs will get a point at Goodison, beat Stoke, lose to Chelsea, beat Swansea and draw/lose to Sunderland. They didn't have Bale, VDV or Parker today.

If those are their worst fixtures I think they'll be absolutely fine. Could see them winning most of them. None of those teams are playing that well at the minute.

Yep its possible. For me the turning point was the loss away to man city. The way we lost that one knocked the stuffing out of our collective belief. We ve looked fragile ever since. Firmly believe if Defoe had tucked that chance away we would still be in the title race. It was like when we were fighting for 4th 2 years ago and beat Chelsea then Arsenal in quick succession before beating city away to clinch it. Its all about momentum and ours hinged on that first game into this difficult run away to city. We look like the soft spurs of old at the moment. And is a major worry.

    Typical Tottenham Very Happy

You knew, they would blow it. Bernd&co should have stayed more down to earth, and take a look at the fixture list next time. Though I doubt they will lose 3th place.

Also, expected Newcastle to win the derby, the mackems in the pub were rather happy with a draw.

That game showed why we need a Van Gaal/Benitez to take us to the next level.

Redknapp's mind is elsewhere, and the malaise has spread to the whole team.

Thank God for Chelsea's instability, Newcastle's lack of depth and Liverpool's mediocrity.

A big win for U*d, its just frustrating that they arnt playing well but keep on winning. I think the pressure is on us now, their fixtures are a lot better than ours and i think we will slip up away at Arsenal and possible one of Stoke, Swansea or Norwich. 11 games to go its still in our hands so we just have to keep winning.I think it will come down the game on 30th April against them.

Haha shut the hell up. Even Feyenoord managed to finally beat the Jews, but before that I doubt you sat at home refusing to hope and believe it may one day happen...Laughing We completely dominated the midfield battle today, and against most teams that's usually enough to win the game. United are masters of the the smash and grab, doth my skull cap to them.

The alternative I suppose would be to just support a shit load of other teams better than United the Fey way, sure that must be a lot more fun. Tchusssssssss Ale
