Still plenty of time for Arsenal to blow this though (thinking back to last year).

It's fair to say this will be an absolute robbery if we do hold on and win this. I still expect Liverpool to create at least one very good chance though.

Brilliant goal from Van Persie. Another superb volley. Did the right thing in getting between Liverpool's 2 weakest defenders...and Reina's attempt to save was feeble.

Impressive mental attitude from Arsenal 2 weeks in a row now - they have been under pressure for most of this game but are on the verge of winning now.

And Liverpool once again have the same problem as in the entire season - too many wasted chances.

Very harsh on Liverpool, but thats football. If you dont make the chances...the other team will. Anyway, kinda sums both club seasons up. Liverpool, need a gazillion chances to make a goal, and Arsenal are just plain rubbish..but they have RVP.

Massive win for Arsenal. Scarcely deserved, but yet again van Persie wins it almost single-handedly. Usual story for Liverpool who missed so many good chances, and you'd have to say that makes their hope of CL football very slim. Even with a game in hand they are 10 points back with a poor goal-difference.

    cheers isn't football wonderful?

As Sheff said, scarecely deserved win but we showed some grit in defending while getting a hammering for 80 minutes out of 90. Moments of genius from VanP to the rescue again but Chesney MoTM for me.

Holy shit, just seen the table. Pool are 10 points behind L'árse now. Though the have a one game in hand, IE they should have won this game.

If Arsenal my some miracle gets 4th they should build a statue for RVP.

Would have been happy with a point at 1-1 considering how often we were being saved by the woodwork & good goalkeeping from Szczesny. Massive win, delighted.

Most of our players should be giving van Persie a sizeable contribution from their wages in tribute (as well as building him a statue).

Lovely pass from Song for the goal, and such fine technique from van Persie to cushion the volley. It was such a straight ball which made it very difficult to take a clean shot.
