    Some chinteresting games in there.

Birmingham vs West Brom is another crucial game in the relegation battle. With it being away from home the best the Baggies fans can hope for is a draw, but if you were to ask Roy if he'd take that before kick off the answer would be a wesounding yes.

Arsenal have a MASSIVE game vs Sunderland. It's one of them where Wenger needs to get the selection spot on. Does he rest players for the trip to Barca or does he focus more on the league. I honestly don't know which is the more likely trophy for Arsenal; If they somehow get past Barca then anyone could win the CL. But it's their best chance of winning the league in ages as United might well slip up this weekend and the pressure would be on. My heart says Arsenal will win the league, my head says oh fuck it's United we're talking about, they are an evil evil force that will not stop 'til they have knocked Liverpool off their fucking perch Sad

Spurs have another potential banana skin and will most likely field a weakened team. If only Robbie Keane was still there he'd be sure of a start in this one.

Then of course it's the BIGGEST GAME IN ENGLISH FOOTBALL. Pool vs United. No Vidic is a massive loss and hopefully big Andy will get some game time, he's tall, strong and has great feet, don't we just love him?

Kimmy hates any team that stands in the way of his ideal of Newcastle somehow doing something of worth in football. He hates Liverpool because we poached Newcastle's most promising talent and therefore have the advantage going into next season and he hates Spurs because they are now establishing themselves as a team capeable of breaking into the top 4. It still irks him that Newcastle used to be a decent club challenging for the top 4 and because of his conspiracy that everyone is against Newcastle and that wealth is only distributed to any club but Newcastle he takes his frustrations out on other clubs.

That, and he's a miserable git.

Blah blah blah, we'll see how bitter you are when Liverpool fail qualify for the CL AGAIN next season. Should be a laugh. <Ale>

And i really give a shit about Carroll, we're really missing him. Erm I would wait to see if he is a success for you before showing off, this could become the biggest joke of a transfer in the history of football.

I'm not bitter in the slightest. We don't deserve to be in the top 4 this season because we haven't had the manager/squad to achieve that ahead of Chelsea, City or Spurs. You're constantly displaying venom for other clubs because they are progressing whilst Newcastle is selling its prize assets and still stuck under the laughable anal rape of Ashley Ale

We've sold one player, for about £15m more than he's worth, i think i can handle that.

You're not yet bitter Lulu, just deluded, and when those delusions get a kick in the bollocks next season there will be no Roy Hodgson to pin all the blame on. I'm going to enjoy watching it. <Ale>

Oi Dimbo - You haven't answered my question? Let's not pretend your avatars are anything but amusing contemptuous displays of anti-Spurssssisms.

I remember when you used to get very irked when people viewed the strength of the EPL solely on the established old top 4, that only the big 4 every got any acknowledgement, that there were players/managers/fans outside of the top 4 deserved of praise.

So, what did we do? We helped break up that top 4, playing football which has been devoid of the in-vogue defensive mindedness or the traditional kick n' rush. Despite your protestations that we "bought" our way in by spending millions, we've actually done so off the back of solid book balancing and maintaining a realistic wage bill.

Furthermore, we've done it with an English manager and without adopting an all foreign mercenary transfer policy.

We've also gone on to be pretty decent ambassadors for the league itself in Europe this season by playing attacking football.

Yet despite these fairly positive strides - which can only reflect well on the image of the league on the whole as opposed to having a plethora of defensive teams with massive transfers / wage bills employing a team of mercenaries - you can still barely hide your resentment Laugh

Thus proving that it really doesn't matter what we or Liverpool or anyone else did in terms of playing style, transfer policy, tactical acumen - Kimbo will still think find a way to think you're team is a bunch of c**ts Ale

Ofcourse you are deluded, everyone thinks so. Your arrogant bilge about "lesser clubs", your dismissal of Chelsea and Arsenal, your claim that Liverpool are as good as Spurs and Milan, your incredibly optimistic view of Kenny Dalglish, the way you overrate your squad. If we have a real challenge and miss out I wont mind at all. I think with a few more quality signings we should be capeable of challenging unless the other contenders all go out and spend big which is always likely I suppose.

I wont be bitter Kimmy, I'll leave that all for you.

Your arrogant bilge about "lesser clubs", your dismissal of Chelsea and Arsenal, your claim that Liverpool are as good as Spurs and Milan, your incredibly optimistic view of Kenny Dalglish, the way you overrate your squad. This spells out one word to me,... deluded,

Who is everyone? No one else seems to be taking issue with what I've said.

I haven't dismissed Chelsea or Arsenal, in what sense? I don't think either club is so invincible that they can't fall from the top 4. The Arsenal team personnel wise isn't that much better than our side that finished second a few seasons ago so it's concievable that if they dont spend in the summer they could fall like we did. I've said on a number of occasions that Chelsea badly need an overhaul this summer; their best players over the last 5 or so years are aging, there's a lack of creativity and flair in midfield and they aren't as solid at the back. I don't doubt they'll spend big in the summer as they spent big in January so I can't see them falling.

I said Liverpool aren't that much worse than Spurs and Milan. Football isn't black and white all the time. We're not a million miles off Spurs, only around 8 points. I'm not disputing that at this moment in time they're in a much stronger position than we are with CL money and rights and a better squad but they wanted Caroll and we got him instead which hopefully shows we can compete in the transfer market once again and succeed.

Milan are good in their league but you even said yourself in the CL match day thread that they're much of a muchness and in a stronger league like the Premier League or La Liga at this moment they'd struggle and I'd be tempted to say wouldn't make the top 4 or 5.

I'm optimistic about Dalglish but not 'incredibly'. His record as a manager in the past and since being here this time around points to a bright future. He's improved our results, he's got us playing better football on the whole and before West Ham we had 5 straight clean sheets. He has far more charisma than Roy had and the fans love him so why wouldn't I be optimistic? Just because I'm hopeful about my team it doesn't mean I'm deluded.

I thought they were funny pictures, that's all. Funny pictures of my poster boy, Lennon, and someone i dislike, the corrupt cretin that is dirty 'arry.

I dislike most teams in the premiership, how could i not after the reaction to our relegation? Celebrations when the final whistle went all over the country, people licking their lips at the reports we may go into administration, people cheerfully saying "they won't be back, Boro are favourites for promotion", i've nothing but contempt for these petty motherfuckers, and frankly some of the rape we have handed out this season has been nothing short of glorious. But Spurs? I don't really dislike them much more than anyone else, and to be honest i think this all stems from the Lennon argument. We argued about that for years, and now i've pretty much been proved right, maybe you are bitter and that's why you have built it into a bigger issue, i don't know. <Ale>

But Spurs? I don't really dislike them much more than anyone else, and to be honest i think this all stems from the Lennon argument. We argued about that for years, and now i've pretty much been proved right, maybe you are bitter and that's why you have built it into a bigger issue, i don't know. <Ale>

The Lennon arguments have been glorious.

Although, how have you worked out you were right?! I don't see how him ghosting past Milan's defense at the San Siro equates to you being right?!

That's one example. Is he the best right winger in the World? Nope, but then I never argued he would be.

He is clearly one of the best wingers in the Premier League, and would have had many more assists this season if our strikeforce weren't so shit. Against Blackpool he put 2 absolute perfect crosses onto Pav's head from 3 yards out, both contrived to miss. Since Bale's injury, he's been our most potent wide threat.

He's a quality player who has struggled with long term injuries that have hindered his progression. And cost us just 1 million

Anyway, your argument was N'Zogbia is better. How is that a victory?! Laugh

3 goals and 2 assists in the league this season, playing for a top 5 club. You call that end product? Even Jonas has done better and i'm more than willing to admit his end product is shit. He got 2 assists against Birmingham with Leon Best and McLoven getting the goals, so don't complain about your strikers, there isn't a person in the country that would take our strikers over yours.

N'Zogbia is another that has been more productive, whilst playing for the worst team in the country(whinge about your strikers all you want), and he plays with alot more style. We bid for him on deadline day and i would like to see us go back in for him in the summer. You seriously wouldn't swap Lennon for N'Zogbia? I won't rub it in if you admit it.

If only stats told the whole story eh?

I've seen enough of Lennon to know he creates many more goal scoring opportunities than the stats give credit for. And no, I wouldn't swap him for N'Zogbia. Your argument that N'Zogbia and Jonas do it playing for shitter teams - well, it's easier to look good and stand out in a shit team, against defences that don't just sit back afraid to play as they know they'll get raped Ale

His final product can still be erratic for sure, but for sheer ability to terrorise opposition fullbacks, he's one of the best. And yes, I can firmly blame our strike force. In the league, they've been worse than bad this season. Don't tell me you've created more goal scoring opportunities than we have this season - we must have the worse goal to chance ratio in the league. Crouch, Defoe and Pav have all been in miserable form Ale

It's not alway easier to stand out in a shit team, sometimes players leave their top 4 bubble and are found out when they don't have top players to carry them. You can't say that like it's a fact.

And 0trick, we do create alot of goalscoring opportunities, i can't say we create more or less. I'm not sure what people think when they look at our league position and results, what do people think our strengths are? Luck? Lewis thinks we have a shit midfield, we clearly have a shit strikeforce, people don't seem to rate our defence outside of Enrique, or our keepers, or our manager. I'm not sure how people explain the thrashings we have handed out.

Your strikeforce HAS been better than ours though, that's the point.

Andy Carroll singlehandedly scored more goals than our 3 combined. Ameobi and Best have both scored more than Defoe and Crouch.

You've been a good side this season, I don't believe I've ever argued otherwise. I would put some of your performances down to other side underestimating you though, given you've just come up. It happens a lot - teams coming up that go on and have storming seasons (Reading, Ipswich, Sunderland, Bolton spring to mind). Unlike a few of those sides though, you won't be going back down next season as you're an established Premier League club with lots of experienced quality.

As for us - a mixture of teams now treating us a "top 4" side, ie playing cautiously with men behind the ball, and indefensible wastefulness upfront have contrived to limit the number of goals we've scored. It certainly ain't because we're a defensive side. In Europe, teams have opened up and treated us a newcomers, and we've given them a hiding. Not wholly unlike you lot benefitting from the "just come up" tag in the league Ale

What? Lennon shown up which night? Milan? Blackpool? He was excellent in both.

Absurdly overrated by whom? He's a good player, not a great one. It's hardly overrating him to say he's better than Walcott - don't even compare him with that 100m runner stumbling over his own feet and passing the ball to NO ONE on the overlap against Barcelona Laugh

No luck necessary. Whilst Lennon was helping us score the winner against Milan and putting chance after chance on a plate against Blackpool, Walcott was being subbed against Barca and playing absolutely no part in Arsenal's goals, and a few days later was part of the squad losing the Carling Cup final. Yup, Lennon was definitely shown up. As I said, no luck necessary Laughing

You don't even need to mention our players, his own teammates are the ones showing him up scratch

It would be too easy to point to this season's relative stats or work done in important games, just pointing out one of the board's more preposterous assumptions.

Theo wasn't in the squad at the weekend, because he's injured (I think it's fair to say we could have used him), and boo-hoo, he couldn't beat Barcelona on his own Laugh – after all, he's only saved the one game against them almost singlehandedly so far...
