If Dortmund are just going to fire sale their entire team, United may aswell go for Gundogan. Or Draxler from Chalker.
The jewel in the crown though is Reus. I believe he would be the best player to buy from die Bundomiliationsliga

It's a pity, innit? All Germans should return, all Spaniards, every Dutchman and every Italian. Joey Barton should return also.

Perfect Moyes gets the chance to show how good he can be at a top club. Hope he does well, makes me want to follow them more than Spurs and Newcastle and Swansea and Millwall.

Re: Next United Manager?
It's a big gamble. I know there'll be lip service to giving Moyes a fair chance etc but a club used to the level of sustained success as Utd is bound to have a low tolerance level for a lack of it - not just among the fans, but the management, and probably most importantly, the players themselves. A barren first season, and a slow stat to the second one may be enough to get the supporters rounding up on Moyes. Ferg had served as an impregnable human shield for Glazers - will they have the gumption to stick with Moyes if the supporters really turn on them?
Manci and Maureen must think Christmas came early this year. Maureen will move heaven and earth to engineer a move back to Chelsea if it's not already a done deal.

It's strange that all the media numpties seem to think Moyes is a good appointment, can none of them think for themselves instead of going along with everybody else's opinion.

Moyes and Redknapp, one trophy in 15 years - lauded.
Rafa Benitez - 8 trophies in 10 years - laughed at.

Maybe now Moyes is at a club capable of competing at a higher level he might win some trophies? He took shit and took them high up the league..it's easy and less risky to say he'll be shit. Why should the media go along with your opinion rather than the one they've gone with, Murray?

Re: Next United Manager?
The moment Fergie knew
Still, to appoint that piece of merseyshite for 6 years is a bit much. Zero trophies with Everton, he did turn them into a decent subtop side. But on the other hand it could have been worse, imagine if people would still think that MON would have been good and gave him the 6 year contract. That's almost as bad as giving Pardew 8 years.

Maybe the media like being sycophantic towards Man U. What is known in Scotland as succulent lamb syndrome.

Re: Next United Manager?
It's why I was so surprised though. Moyes may be the right man, but he doesn't have much on his CV. It's not as if the Man Utd team picks itself and his record in Europe and the cups isn't exactly inspiring. You'd be entitled to expect a lot more appearances in the last 8 of cup competitions given his apparent standing.

Re: Next United Manager?
When Ferguson started as a manager the sport was different Aberdeen were a top side behind Celtic and Rangers they won honours with him which is important. Moyes never had that kind of managerial opportunities like player resources simpler game tactics and less european influence.
Question that I would ask is how well does he get on with the players, the United team may be a better bunch but their not the worlds best they have been crap in Europe of late. If Ferguson keeps an eye from a distance the players will work with the new boss. Man U is not Liverpool, Man City or Chelsea to survive the club in my opinion is run better the lack of cash and ego's by the people that look after the organization. In other words it is a business that knows it has to pitch in and graft to hold its place in football.
Expect Man City and Chelsea to improve over this season after taking a pressure break from winning honours.

I think Moyes runs the risk of becoming a coach with SAF still as manager. It may work out, but I think Man Utd should have gone for someone who could stand up to the likes of SAF.

Yeah, but SAF wouldn't have allowed such an appointment.
Moyes I would say is a relatively low risk appointment. He hasn't won anything but he hasn't spectacularly failed either. Also the message from the board is that the way forward is through hard work, not splashing the cash.
