Intense game, Inter did well to earn a draw. Clearly there is a gap of quality against Juve, but the young lads fought bravely. A couple of lapses of concentration apart, one of which proved costly, Inter held Juve at bay. I expected far worse.Murray wrote:Inter - Juve is at 5pm

Alvarez & Campagnaro had great games. Icardi scored his first Inter goal, happy for the kid. Guarin was shite though, wish we had sold him to spurs when we had the chance...

Milan got a bit lucky in the end there, feel sad for Consigli and his heroic performance.Murray wrote:2-2

Napoli topping the table now, but it remains to be seen whether they will be able to last the distance with Juve. Hamsik is looking world class.
Also interesting to see that there is no Nap0-0li thread.... Rafa 1-0 Murray

Napoli does look like the best team in Seria A atm. It helps that they have the best coach in Serie A.bluenine wrote:Milan got a bit lucky in the end there, feel sad for Consigli and his heroic performance.Murray wrote:2-2

I know we are playing the worst team in Serie A, but its 0-7 now. Milito getting two on his first game in 6 months. Alvarez playing like a God.
We haven't played like this since the treble.

Re: Serie A 2013-14 Season Thread
Its a very competitive Serie A this season. Napoli, Roma and Juve look the business, and Fiorentina and Inter look pretty good too so far. Milan will come back once their injury issues are over. Will we finally see a 6 horse race like the 90s?
Personally, I don't think so. I think Juve and Napoli will start pulling away from the rest of the bunch by mid season. The other 4 will probably fight for the final CL spot. But if some of the rest do last the distance in the title fight, it would be awesome.
I think next season, if the top 6 Italian teams continue to strengthen, they will be quite competitive in Europe... specially EL, imagine Milan, Inter and Fiorentina in the EL...

Yeah watched a bit of it before I had to go to see Fey. Inter were 0-3 within 30 minutes or so. Looks good. However, I havent seen a Serie A team as bad as Sassuolo. Nontheless it looks it could become really interesting at the top.bluenine wrote:I know we are playing the worst team in Serie A, but its 0-7 now. Milito getting two on his first game in 6 months. Nah, this is a great opportunity for him to develop... we still own him. Bologna have the rights to buy 50% of him for 1.5m, which is great incentive for them to develop him and give him chances. Also, this was part of the deal which got us Taider - who has been great for us so far!Murray wrote:Inter should have kept himabundance wrote:laxalt

Livaja scored too yesterday. We have a bunch of interesting young strikers in Serie A this season. If 2-3 of Icardi, Belfodil, Livaja, Laxalt, Longo & Botta make it, we should be set for years.

They play 4-3-3Romford Pele wrote:Just been reading one Roma forum - they're saying that Totti has liberated Gervinho. Someone tell me this shit isn't true
What formation are they playing this season?
Pjanic, De Rossi and Strootman in the midfield, which is looking great so far this season. Balzaretti & Maicon have looked the part as full backs. Benatia has more than adequately replaced Marquinhos in the defense, partnering Castan. De Sanctis is an improvement as a GK. The attack usually has Totti, Ljajic and Gervinho - though others like Florenzi, Borriello, and Marquinho help with the rotation.
I am very surprised how quickly Garcia has managed to integrate the team into his formation - clearly, this shows how the "right formation" can transform the output from a team.
It will be a very intriguing encounter next weekend, Inter vs Roma. Always a good game.
