No official confirmation yet but some of the press are reporting we have signed Ospina for £3m.

Re: Todays Transfer Rumours
Reports that we are signing So'ton RB Calum Chambers for £16m. Some say he's undergone a medical already.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28497920
It ties in with other reports that Manquillo has decided to go to Liverpool on loan rather than us as he thinks playing opportunities there would be better. It also deepens doubts over Jenkinson's future - which would be a shame. A good lad with potential and Arsenal through and through, but hampered by lack of opportunities.
KEEP JENKINSON

Re: Todays Transfer Rumours
christ Southampton are getting truly decimated. thought at least ones like him wouldn't attract big bids yet 'cause he's only just broken through.
expect Schneiderlin, Ward-Prowse, Clyne & Rodriguez will all be joining the exodus before too long at this rate.

Schneiderlin likely to go.
For the rest of them it can be a great opportunity though,
Ward-Prowse will get a lot of game time that will aid his development.

Re: Todays Transfer Rumours
£16M for a completely unproven RB. Fucking hell, talk about English premium. Makes the Shaw's fee look reasonable. Sounds like he can also play CB but still, FUCK.
I don't trust Wenger's judgment on defenders, especially undeveloped ones. Not impressed.
----
It's actually great for English football hat Southampton are getting big fees for their players, if....
As harsh as it is for Southampton and their fans, if other English clubs see that producing English talent who can play smart tactical football with positive passing will add a huge premium on their fees then I would hope it encourages these clubs to focus on their academies.
Hopefully it'll inspire others clubs to make a real go at producing English talent and also try to play good football in general. Not going to my breath, English club chairman have never really shown any foresight. There's always been too much short-termism. Still, even if it encourages 2/3 PL clubs and a few more Championship ones that would be a good result.
I hope Championship clubs look to get back in the PL by producing their own talent. Financial stability plus the prospect of huge profits on player sales should be a good enough incentive for English clubs.
Right now, I'm thinking it's imperative that Southampton comfortably stay in the league with a few more of their youngsters coming through and establishing a first team spot. It'll be gutting for the league if a club is relegated for playing good smart football and therefore attracting interest in their players. Hope all goes well.

I think a few of these players will disappoint at their new clubs, if they were all that good then as a collective they should have real down something special in the league

Luke Shaw - 19
Calum Chambers - 19
Morgan Schneiderlin - 24
Jay Rodriguez - 24
Dejan Lovren - 25
Adam Lallana - 26
Ricky Lambert - 32
But apart from Lambert all of the players are relatively young and probably have their best years still ahead of them. From that standpoint it is not really a surprise that they didn't finish higher in the table.

Re: Todays Transfer Rumours
Seems like Paul Scholes has signed a 4 year contract with BT Sports.
http://sport.bt.com/sportfootball/football/manchester-united-legend-paul-scholes-signs-for-bt-sport-S11363923048663
The ginger c**t, with a massive ginger chip on his shoulder, had obviously been advised during his playing career not to comment to the media, because he apparently hates everyone. Now BT Sports is paying for that hatred to be aired. He's already had a go at Rooney, Wilshire and England's defence, who is next? I personally can't wait.

Re: Todays Transfer Rumours
All our top players go and join a queue to become a pundit at the end of their career. I've heard Kevin Kilbane sleeps in a tent outside the MOTD studio, and is paid only in leftover canteen food, to ensure that he keeps his job.

He shouldnt have gone there, coaches are always too eager, but you shouldnt go to clubs who just had a great season for their standard.
Perhaps he gets desperate and sign Clasvi in the end afterall.

Apparently we are going to buy Lukaku from Chelsea and then sign him for 5 years. If it's true, we would need additional CB and winger cover to make it a very, very good summer.

Chelsea want 30 million for him though. And that's without the English premium

Re: Todays Transfer Rumours
Mourinho would rather play a 36 year old striker than Lukaku, that says it all for his future at the club. He tailed off a bit last season but on his day he can be unplayable - I'd have liked to have gone for him over Bony personally.
