With the recent implosion of the EPL teams in the CL, suddenly there's a lot of pressure on the Europa League contingent. Surely Everton can not be the lone remaining survivor in Europe out of all the EPL teams. Shocked

The zionist media will spin it by saying "yet further proof why the EPL is the best league in the world, Everton are struggling in the league but are progressing deep in Europe" lol! lol! lol! <Ale>

Tottenham KO by Fiorentina who were the better team. I'm not surprised, Viola know how to play in Europe really well be it CL or EL.

Conceded 2 utterly laughable goals tonight. Vertonghen and Fazio are fucking disgrace for those performances.

Yeah, Fiorentina played well tonight. But as usual we played straight into their hands. It was naivety of the highest order - they looked to remain disciplined and hit us on the break. The fact that both their goals came from unforced errors in our half meant they never really had to commit men forward. It was a shambolic defensive display, which from then on was exactly as Fiorentina had hoped it would be: hold that defensive shape and they did that brilliantly, as you would expect from a Serie A side.

I've seen some stupid Spurs performances in my time, but that one was right up there for just sheer idiocy.

they shouldn't have left WHL in the game to be honest, we should have killed this tie off after 50 minutes, had enough chances, Chadli hit the post.

There is simply nothing left to say about Soldado. I'm so done with how ineffective he is. We need to get him out. Fazio is fucking atrocious too. I just can't get over how absolutely shambolic that first error for Gomez' goal was. No words for that at this level.

And now we've got Chelsea in less than 72 hours' time in the League Cup Final.

    Brilliant Rolling Eyes

I feel for Poch, because when we lose that final, everyone is going to claim this season as a failure for him as a manager. I don't think it is, but certainly a lot to learn about how to play more intelligently away in Europe. The high press is only possible if you have the right personnel. Fazio is about the last defender in the World you should attempt that with - slow, clumsy, awful passer. A proper transfer window in the summer is going to help Poch enormously.

Sevilla beating M'gladbach (Bundesliga's 3rd ranked team ATM) home and away may be a bad sign for Leverkusen as they prepare to face Atlético and Simeone raging with revenge in mind, nothing below a comprehensive 3-0 destruction will please him. Shocked

By the way, M'gladbach don't lose at home, they held Bayern to a 0-0 draw and utterly destroyed Schalke 4-1.

There is no doubting - especially if Liverpool go out tonight too - that the EPL has utterly embarrassed itself in Europe this season. The standard of defending in the League is being proven to be pretty terrible.

Damn! this is really bad news for the EPL. The so called "best league in the world" by its own media has seen its elite teams being utterly destroyed by the elite teams from the other leagues in the CL, and also the best-of-the-rest teams from the so called "best league in the world" are also being KO by their respective counterparts in the EL.

    Only Everton in Europe? WOW!

"Best league in the world"...they'll say again over the weekend during one of their transmissions. Biggrin <Ale>
