In other news, Murray is only ever SCOTTISH when he loses, and BRITISH when he wins.

England are 10 WORLD CLASS PLAYER + ROONEY.

And if we're lucky, London might just get awarded the 2012 Olympic Games.

Serie A seems to be doing a 5/5 so far tonight. If only Torino can hold on...

Inter were crap, luckily Celtic were crazier and down to 10 men. Good strike by Guarin. And now with Liverpool & Spurs out, there may be an easier path for Inter to go further. This is the only way we can qualify for CL, Mancini should focus on this.

La Liga counters with Sevilla and Villarreal as strong favorites too with Bilbao as darkhorse.

See, Tina Fey likes the club of the devil and he remembers Gervinho from his time at Arsenal and he started yelling "n****r" this and "n****r" that. Totti took offense too and was about to jump to the bleachers to f**k him up, but the ref interfered just in time.

I understand. Brenda is a disgrace. In CL he only beat Ludogonorrh.. what was it? with a gifted penalty at the death and was lucky again to beat Besiktas in the EL. The fans are fuming and rightly so. They were expecting their proud team to win the EL and win the ticket to the CL that way.

I hope Tina Fey is okay.

That was nearly embarrassing for Inter, only 1-0 against 10 man Celtic. Hopefully playing with 10 men has tired them out before we play them on Sunday.

I see that numpty Celtic manager is complaining about the referee, it must be a shock for them to have unbiased refs in Europe instead of the bent refs they have at home who give them everything.

UEFA's so sick of La Liga teams monopolizing the tournament, so now they decided to send them into the arena to kill themselves as soon as possible. Serie A have so many teams left and UEFA also sends two to kill themselves.

Blue9, Wolfsburg and the German mes amis are more fearful of playing Inter than Inter playing them. Kudos to the Germans who throughout time when they're shitting their pants, they camouflage it really well - they must have really good "Huggies" and "Pampers" over there.

We all have fears, it's what we do with our fears that determine our success.

It's a very exciting and wide open tournament THIS EL with pretty good teams remaining. Many of them are actually better or at the very least just as good as several teams who are in the KO stages of the CL.

If UEFA could go a step further and remove the CL drop outs and the utterly pointless group stage from this competition, it would get the full respect and attention it deserves. I know plenty of fellow Spurs fans happy we are out of it now due to the impact on fixtures, which irks me as I love European football and this cycle of qualifying for and then not respecting the competition is so tiresome. Lots of great teams in this competition, it should be a privilege to both play in it and try to win it.

    I agree.

It's a very exciting competition. I mean at the very top football is becoming stratified like never before. A handful of clubs can buy all the best players and compete for the Champions League. Tier 2 and Tier 3 are much more exciting now for me.

So nice to see Feyenoord dumped out yesterday after all the shit their fans pulled. So nice to see Torino go to Spain and get a result like that. 3-2!

Would love to see an all-Italian final in the Europa League, and a Juve semi-final run at least.

    Forza Italia!

I agree too. A few more changes, and EL could become as exciting as the UEFA cup used to be long back. KO format, no more dropouts and more money - that should do it. If more money is not possible, then give EL more spots for next years CL.

Didn't see extra time or pens but it was a poor performance from us. No real urgency and a lack of cutting edge. Besiktas fully deserved to advance.

Sturridge and Sterling try too much a lot of the time - just keep it simple. Balotelli just doesn't deserve to be playing; can never trust him. More concerned with silly disputes than scoring goals.

It's a shame to go out and we're fucked for City on Sunday now but long term I think it could be a blessing pushing for that top 4. I always felt more confident of finishing 4th than beating some good quality teams away from home on a Thursday in this competition.

The EL already commanded the full respect and attention this season. Just because you and people like you were not aware of the importance of the tournament it doesn't mean the EL was not seriously sought after this season. You never see things coming, my friend.

Pochettino knew how important it is to win it, but the guy is so smart he thought he'd have a much better chance of gaining entry to the CL via a fourth place finish in the EPL than beating Napoli, Roma, Fiorentina, Sevilla, Villarreal, Wolfsburg, Zenit...etc. etc. you know running the gauntlet in the EL.

It's that simple. Me and Pochettino KNEW he'd never win the EL, but me and him always KNEW he had a chance in the EPL for fourth. Shut the f**k up with that bullshit "not respecting the competition". Spurs are not good enough to win it! lol! <Ale>

Slightly different case with Brenda and Liverpool when compared with Tottenham. Liverpool's history forced the club to win the EL, and the fans EXPECTED at the very least reach the Final. Never the less, Brenda is not good enough to win, let alone in Europe. It's been proven time and again that last season was all down to Suárez.

However, all is not lost. The EPL is seriously weak and Liverpool have a chance for fourth just like Tottenham. Never the less, I was curious enough to study the run in and TWO "big clubs" are not making the CL next season. One surprise entry will make it.

Suarez has been shit this season though I thought?

We've been great for our last 14 games or so - defence has improved rapidly, playing nice football and creating chances. We just need to be more clinical - Sturridge is slowly regaining his fitness and confidence.

Obviously we do miss a world class player like Suarez but we're together as a team and Rodgers deserves great credit for turning things around this season. Europe has been disappointing but if we can push for that top 4 and try and win the FA cup I'd put it down as arguably a better season than last season all things considered. All ifs and buts though.
