Looks like a draw to me. $50 bucks on the draw 3.9 odds.

Hmm I'm not sure about the game ending in a tie. Even though the number of Brits on each team is roughly the same, the ones for Southampton are the fullbacks but they can play. On the other hand the ones for Villa are mainly on offense and they haven't been able to score to save their lives.

was mildly hopeful of getting something earlier when I heard Southampton were missing key players but they all seem to be starting, while we got a CB partnership of Okore (first game for over a year due to injury, only playing 'cause 3 other CBs injured) and Clark (usually a weak link at the best of times).

I just checked every result this GW and the teams with less Brits won the most games. Go check every starting XI this season and find out. The Mick's been making money this way for a while and I finally got him to confess his secret after a few Guinness Stouts.

True, but considering its still Englands 2nd(?) biggest city you expect always a full house, I've seen it more and more at Villa, not just this season

I would suggest though that the most pertinent indicator would be which team has the higher wage bill. The richest teams offer the highest wages can attract talent globally vs say Burnley, who scour the lower leagues / academies, which equals more Brits vs Rest Of The World. Number of Brits therefore the consequence as opposed to the cause.

I was wondering the same thing because a lot of Irish players were born and raised in England. I know the rivalry between the countries and did not dare ask him "do you consider yourself Brittish?".
