Basically I agree with you on the Trochowski issue because he will probably not even play against Slovakia so he could help the U21 against England a lot more than the A-NT by keeping their bench warm.
But on Friday the whole team (apart from Rensing) have played weak and uninspired and I doubt Trochowski would have made a difference.
I don't know, maybe they don't like the English weather, meal or whatsoever
that would or could explain this performance but I hope (and I'm sure
) they will do better tomorrow without so many misplaced and aimless passes, with more tempo, a better tactic and please no Ochs as LB!
Please be aware that England are also missing a number of eligible U21's playing for the national team or who are injured.
For example, Darren Bent (2nd top scorer in the league) is drafted into the national squad, Aaron Lennon is injured, as is Dean Ashton, all capable of playing in the U21's.
The English got the tactics spot on - the 4-3-3 with Routledge and Walcott's pace was excellent masterstroke by Taylor (shame the senior team were not so dynamic!) - Routledge totally destroyed Ochs on the right.
If Germany are to progress, which at the halfway stage they certainly dont deserve to (even our German frineds will agree Im sure), then you will need Ochs either to be replaced or play like a professional, because Routledge is a talented player and will have another field day if not
