Well... i was hoping for some from anyone but Obispo seeing as Taylor was always going to get a poor score from him. I'll assume he was good considering the -2 Newcastle player penalty. Laughing <Ale>

Now now Kimberly. If I was bias then surely I would have marked Milner down as worse than everyone else.

Taylor's a decent player, but he was off the pace first half tonight.

Just because ferd played around on the ball a little more does not give him extra brownie points in my book Laugh One time he very nearly screwed up doing this on our 18 yard line someone came in and cleared it off his feet.Very Happy:

That's what I meant about him being dodgy to begin with Ale

Still, he was a damnsite better than Taylor. Not just with the ball at his feet but he made several great tackles aswell as important clearences.

It's the relativities that matter and they looked about right to me. I was disappointed that Walcott disappeared after half time. I forgot he was playing until he popped up after about 10 minutes. I wasn't surprised he was taken off.

I still think they are too high!

An 8 is only for the true man of the match. Brian gives only 8´s....

If those are `true` ratings they are already 10 times better than the A-team... Shocked

I don't think an 8 is high. I tend to judge players by their performance within the context of the game, rather than what I know that player is capable of.

This was a U21 game ........Even if it was a U12 U14 U16 I rate first and foremost how effective the player is in the side. All the players were that good they played like a team........If they had carried on and scored four or five goals then my ratings would of been 9 or 10 out of 10....Very Happy:

    Dear Englander and Dutchies,

you might forgive my absence, but I don't watch Germany or Bremen matches on my tiny computer monitor if I can avoid it.

With regard to our performance tonight I must say I'm very disappointed. I was so damn sure we would do much better, but I think it's safe to say that we were lucky in the end not to lose higher. So fortunately will still have the opportunity to reach the EC next Tuesday.

I'm also unhappy with Dieter Eilt's line up. Even normally I don't like right footed players being used as LB, but using Patrick Ochs as LB... Doh ...I really wonder why Fabian Schönheim didn't play tonight. I also would have prefered Roberto Hilbert instead of Kevin Boateng. After all it was Boateng's first nomination ever for the U21 and so a bit too risky to let him play from the beginning imo. Apart from that I think we surely missed Trochowski...oh well, hopefully he will at least get the opportunity to play for the senior team tomorrow and not only warm the bench. Rolling Eyes

Well, however congratulations Englanders, it was really a deserved win for you tonight.

Nope, I thought he's injured, but since he played in a test match for Gladbach yesterday it seems Eilts did not nominate him. Don't know why, maybe because he's only fourth choice after Kießling, Helmes and Gomez...

Only saw a little bit of the match, been busy.

Thought that Boateng lad should have been sent off for that "tackle" on Theo.

    Good goal from Baines.

Germans looked good going forward from the bits I saw, just a bit suspect at times at the back.

Huddlestone must be on steroids or something.

Pssst--don't believe everything he says... Half a year ago, Hunt was making more headlines through his off-pitch behaviour (disco brawl, alledged rape-case...) and some people would have been glad to see him go.

I've never heard anything about an alledged rape-case before, but it's true that he was involved in a disco brawl and he was caught once driving under the influence of alcohol. Surely that's nothing he can be proud of and he should have known better, but he was 18 resp. 19 that time and apart from that it doesn't change anything on the fact he's a huge talent. And there're always people who want this and that...almost all Bremen fans rate him and don't want to see him go. Werder Bremen want to extend his contract and apart from minor details it's already done.

    (as a German)
We didnt play well simple , didnt look like a team , got dominated in the midfield and what was Ochs doing at LB.
I hoped Polanski and Boateng wll shine but they dissapointed, Rensing is going to be even better then Kahn though.

    (as an Englishman)
Great Performance , dominated them in the midfield , Routledge was amazing. The UNIT had a gr8 game , could have been 3 4 nil.
    great strike from Baines.

Watched the whole game then went out afterwards,

got to say that was about as convincing a 1-0 as Ive ever seen. Really didnt think England would dominate so easily. Patrick Ochs looks like he wouldnt have got into my local pub side let alone the German U21's. He was truly shocking.

No doubt Germany will play better at home.

From an English perspective- the performance was far more peasing than the result.

Huddlestone nad Reo Coker were superb. Ditto Routledge. I actually cant think of a player who didnt play well last night. Perhaps Theo could have done better, but more becuase of the expectation we all have for him.

If England play anything like that in Germany then its over as a contest.

Purely from a WUM perspective- Im glad Aaron Hunt chose to play for Germany and not England. He was awful!

Congrats to the Englanders, it was a very diappointing and weak performance by the Germans and the defeat was absolutely deserved.

Thank god, we only lost 1:0.
Nothing is lost yet, however I hope we will see a better performance in Leverkusen but it's going to be very tough now!

    @ my German fellows
Is it true that a German U21 could never win against an English U21 team in the past?

Only just seen a tape of this game, but Wayne Routledge - what a Talent.

Tom Huddlestone - What a UNIT!... He looks like he could be Alonso and Sissoko rolled into one.

Best U21 performance I've seen for a while, and yet McClaren wants to ditch Peter Taylor Neutral :

The future is bright for England.

    BTW Anton & Richards ok
