yep, i think Ashleys the best left back in the world which is why i've put him 3rd in the rankings behind one of the best sreikers in the world and the best midfielder in the world (IMO when he's on top form)

It's a shame Gallas hasn't got TEMPA anymore. Notice how the defence has improved again with a defence who genuinley want to try hard for the team

All trying so hard - they all managed to miss Agbonlahor

Meanwhile wiothout TEMPA, Willy G. has managed to be concede the same amount, so it's inconclusive for now.

2) Scholes - most gifted Englishman of his generation, still a world class playmaker
3) Joe Cole - emerged last season ahead of Frank Lampard in Chelsea's team in terms of importance, particularly when Frank went a couple of months without scoring
4) Rio Ferdinand - most talented defender by some distance
5) John Terry - despite his dogging, a remarkably consistent player and excellent captain
6) Wayne Rooney - when he's good, he's very, very good
7) Michael Carrick - wonderful passer, exceptional vision, looks lazy because of the ease with which he finds space but a very competent and valuable player

According to yahoo, which only has the league numbers, he got 9 in 33 two seasons back and 2 in 19 last year. 11 goals in 52 games isn't great, but given he's been playing with a somewhat inept Fletcher, a chronically ageing Keane and the likes of Djemba Djemaba and Liam Miller in that time, he's not done too badly.

Just for comparison, though not a fair one obviously, Fabregas has got 3 in 35 and 2 in 33 in the last two league seasons.

Four seasons ago he was United's best player, as he was in the season they finished third to the unbeaten Arsenal and Mr Abramovich's Chelsea, when he was instrumental in Man U winning the FA cup. Last two seasons he's been a bit on and off, but look at who he's had to play with in that time, and last season he was injured for half of it. A huge part of Ronaldo's great form so far this season is because he and Scholes have finally worked out how to play together - ask LRD, who is a Man U fanatic. I remember discussing this with him on the old 606, the good 606, how Scholes and Ronaldo didn't seem to work well together very often. So far this season they've been running the show for Man U.


My favourite English player? Probably Rio Ferdinand, for the Jaffa Cake incident, the missed drugs test and the awful, awful hip hop.
