Ricardo is an excellent goalkeeper – an excellent shot stopper. I first watched him against Celtic a few years ago and he was brilliant over both legs of the tie.

How about Fernando Meira? Is he underrated? Although I’ve only seen him play a few times, he has impressed me. He looks elegant, composed, a good distributor of the ball and a decent defender.

What are his weaknesses?

MB is one playa who is severely underrated on here

Under-rated:

S.Parker- Not enough credit been giving to this boy, after the consistent season he has had. After watching him recently for Newcastle, there's more to him than just tackling, his distribution is better than I thought....

Crouch- He may look skinny and geeky and THAT dance will for ever be ridiculed upon, still his goal scoring record has been taking as a pinch of salt. Really the credit, say Bent gets is, in terms of "Lets put him in the England team" infront of him, why??

I mean, what's impressed me, is not just his goal scoring form, but his over-ral play. Remeber in the World Cup, when he played upfront on his own, after Rooney got taken off, and how well he holded up the ball and provided better awareness as a lone striker? Thats just one of many example's...

Almost everyone is just spouting the usual names they would also suggest in a best player of the moment thread.

Looking at the top 4 in the EPL I'd expect already several mentions for the following : Park, Riise, Ljungberg and Carvalho.

None so far ?

They must be *really* underrated

I think David Villa is not rated nearly high enough as he should be on here, since he is a very complete goalscorer, has a tremendous work rate and perhaps the best Spanish player of the moment.

Agree with all except Taiwo. Cambiasso is one of those players like Gilberto Silva that people don't appreciate how good he is until he isn't playing and the team starts to play badly.

Henry and Gerrard. The best 2 players in the EPL.

Many topics are started solely to have a dig at them. Very few topics are started to praise them, their only positive posts come from their fans defending them against small pitch/headless chicken theories.

I've made those 2 statements time & again.

I presume I'm one of those poster who are known to be "anti" Henry & Gerrard, so I've never praised them. Ever, ever, ever!.

This is the big problem.

Unless you say Henry is the best striker in the world and one of the top 3 players in the world, your a hater.
