He better start against Chelsea and Recre.. unless Gudjohnsen scores a hattrick in the cup.. And you don't bloody take off Deco in order to pull back Messi so he can be "Deco".. What is the point??

Barca really miss a clinical finisher today. Just shows how important Eto'o really is for them.

    FACTS!
    Real Madrid outsmarted us.
Rijkaard needs to chnage the tactics.
    Bench Deco and Ronaldinho.
    Start Saviola.
    Bring back Eto'o, even injured.
If we continue like this, i see a sad season for us.
We will go through the group stages of CL.
Robinho is even worse than Deco. Very Happy

p.s. great win for you guys, you deserved it.

You still had quite a few excellent chances. You simply didn't (or couldn't?) use them.

What i ment was tht he dont deserve to even start at this moment. The same goes for Ronaldinho.
He should have tried with Marquez as a DM, and Iniesta doing Deco's role.

Márquez hasn't played that role for 2 years.. and you want to expirement in this game??

The line up was ok, except for maybe Gudjohsen (but that is hindsight).. the bloddy changes killed us off and the fact that the team is always asleep for the first 15-20mins..

What i hate most is when someone isnt even trying to do something. This goes for those 2 that i mentioned earlier. Ronaldinho doesnt have a problem of a in form or out of form sindrom. He simply isnt trying, he doesnt care anymore, and this is worse that beeing out of form. Thats why i would be glad to sell him and do something with the money.

Real Madrid won this match, we didn't lose it. Their ball pressure in midfield was immense, even with our ability to make one touch passes at speed in close spaces, we couldn't cope with it. Any other team would have gotten slaughtered today.

Yes the better team won tonight, well done. I still think it will be Valencia and not RM who will be challenging for the championship though.

However the news of our demise is somewhat premature I think. Rijkaard and Neeskens need to go back to the drawing board. Give Ronaldinho a rest and start Saviola instead of Gudjohnsen for a start.

That was a masterclass 2nd half performance. I'm very happy. If I didn't have an exam tomorrow morning I would have stayed at the bar getting plastered but it's all good.

First half was even. First 20 minutes for us and the last 20 minutes for Barca. Second half it was all Madrid, no doubt about it.

What impressed me the most was the team's fighting spirit. That was a truly gutsy performance. Off the ball, every Madrid player was running after the ball as if their life depended on it. That's what I want to see.

Well done Capello ok I have been one of his fiercest critics but tonight Madrid showed that his tactics are starting to pay off. I'll do player ratings later on.

The two goals were not due to the pressure on the midfield, but because of defensive errors.. and taking off Deco, allowed Real Madrid to retain possession when we needed it most..

How crap is Gudjohnsen? How could he possibly miss that sitter? Man, you really miss Eto'o!

Barca made it way too easy for Madrid today. So many mistakes and bad passes. I hadn't seen that at all in the last two seasons.

Deco was terrible. So slow, so many turnovers.

A game to forget for Barca...

The goals were not, but the rest of the match we were continually giving the ball away, making bad passes, getting crowded out. That just increased the pressure and required defenders to push up and help out whoever had the ball, thus making us vulnerable on counters. It was all the more frustrating because that's what we usually do to opposition teams.

And with hindsight, which is 20/20, I was wrong in saying that the midfield of Xavi-Deco-Iniesta is good. Either Motta or Marquez should have started, because Madrid had a lot of space between our midfield and defensive lines.

That midfield needs to be played only when we are against weaker opponents, so Rijkaard can experiment more and see how it goes.
Now i wanna see what will be the line-up against Chelsea, when he needs to atack.

btw, Messi proved again today that he is the real deal. Here are my player ratings for us:

    Valdes - 6
Good saves during the game, and no one has said this yet, but IMO he was at fault for the 2nd goal. If you're going to come running out, you better get there.

    Zambrotta - 6
People may think he played shit but tbh I felt this was one of his better games for us. He managed to keep Robinho under control and put in a good effort overall. Again, more help in attack was needed.

    Puyol - 6.5
Tried his best, probably the best of the defense.

    Thuram - 5
At fault for the 1st goal but otherwise an ok game.

    Sylvinho - 7
Ran tirelessly, played well on both defense and attack. Can't really ask much more from him

    Iniesta/Xavi/Deco - 6
All 3 had pretty much the same type of performance - the occasional penetrating run or good pass, but also gave the ball away a few times. Iniesta probably was the best of the 3, although Deco should have gotten more time.

    Ronaldinho - 6
Not as bad as the Chelsea game, he was quite dangerous at times. But that final ball just wasn't there.

    Gudjohnsen - 4
Didn't even play well as a target man, which is what he does at a minimum in most games. Lost the ball a lot, missed that great easy chance, was offside a lot, didn't even track back today.

    Saviola - 5
People clamour for him to start, but he was invisible. Only had one good run towards the end when Messi hit into the side netting.

    Giuly - 5
Invisible, even Roberto Carlos found him easy to play.

    Messi - 8
Our man of the match. Brilliant control, movement, and some good passes too. If Etoo had been there today we would have got a couple of goals.
