I am not too surprised... never rated him. IMO Di Michele and Amauri are far better strikers....

I remember having this arguement with Obispo in the summer - so Obipso, I told ya so! Wink

MezIsHere wrote:If caraciollo goes anywhere it will be in serie a i believe. But he definetly isnt getting the time he wants, or even close to the time he got last year.

Di Michele and Amauri are our two starting up front...most like brienza is next in line, so i think caraciollo will go to where he can find some playing time.

Don't get me wrong... I love seeing Milan like this, its sooo much fun! Wink

It will be great if Inter can win the scudetto this season... but it will be sooo much better if we win and Milan are like more than 20 points behind us Wink

Ancellotti needs to redesign Pirlo again, hasn't been nearly as affective as he was in the World Cup, but then again different story, and he is probabaly more tired. Along with the likes of Nesta, Gila, Inzaghi, and Gattuso (who is hardly ever tired). There must be some turn arounds soon! I hate to see the team like this!

yes there is no question....Amarui (italian citizenship coming soon) and Di Michele are farrr better than Caraciollo.

I like caraciollo tho, he helped us get here, he has height and good skill, but not compared to the other two.

Hes starting today tho, in the Coppa italia

Wouldn't you rather want to win a scudetto knowing that you won it through great competition between Palermo, Roma, Milan, fiorentina, Juve etc, than rather having won it with a huge help by the Calciopoli point deductions! This title was practically given to Inter, Roma, and Palermo this season! i would much rather see roma have it, then Palermo ... and well never Inter, but's that's the way it goes

Do remind me, how many points were deducted, and how many points behind are you guys now? Wink

From what I have seen of Serie A so far this season, Inter, Palermo and Roma have played like the best 3 teams...

    An analysis of Inter strikers:

An interesting analysis is how many minutes did the Inter strikers take to score their goals... as expected, Cruz demonstrates his goal scoring knack!!! This seasons stats:

----Player--- goals --- minutes played --- minutes per goal
    1- Cruz--------4------------328---------82
    2- Crespo-----5-------------814---------163
    3- Ibra---------3-------------1173---------391
    4- Adriano -------0----------436---------infinite
    5- Recoba-------0-----------102----------infinite

Come on Mancio, Cruz has been leading these stats for such a long time now - even last season he was far ahead of Martins/Adriano/Recoba... last seasons stats:

----Player--- goals --- minutes played --- minutes per goal
    1- Cruz------- 21--------- 2807-----------134
    2- Adriano--- 19----------3789-----------199
    3- Recoba----6------------1483-----------247
    4- Martins----12-----------3380-----------282

What more does Cruz have to prove??? He deserves a longer run more than anyone else. One of the most under rated goal scorers in Europe.

got to say Doni was a bit of a surprise. We could have expected his return, but I honestly didn't think he could stilll score goals regularly.

talking of samp, why did Vieri first signed for your lot and then decided to retire? I somehow missed it.

I think it had to do with his long term injury after the world cup disappointment...

He isn't expected back b4 dec, and I guess the atalanta deal works well for him as they only pay him for each goal he scores... like half a million per goal or something... you must be hoping he bankrupts your club, eh? Wink

the deal is not quite like it, but yes, I do hope is gonna bankrupt us! 10 winning goals, 5 milliond in his pockets and 30 points for us? How good would it be! He is actuallyexpected back by january, as he needs a small ops on his knee still. hope he can help the team avoiding another relegation scrap.

He also had personal problems and was wondering whether to retire from fotball for good, that's why he didn't pitch for the training sessions! And then him and Samp had a mutual ageement to terminate the contract! And then he was a free agent, and decided to go back to Atalanta... a small club, with less pressure and a club where he is familiar with!

thats what im scared of in Palermo. i hope di michele, amauri, barzagli, and zaccardo can keep their good form until the end of the season.

ya the problems with teams like Palermo is that after a good season all their top players leave for better clubs..

imagine Palermos team today if their top players didnt leave

    Toni
    Grosso
    Santana
    Barone

i really hope barzagli and zaccardo dont leave. they are the heart of our defence...but i cant blame them for wanting to go to a higher club

It will be sad if Palermo let players leave after this season, coz it is very likely that Palermo will be playing the Champions League next season. To be able to compete in Serie A and CL, Palermo not only need to retain all these players, but also buy 5-6 additional quality players to be able to rotate the squad effectively.

I sincerely hope Palermo do that, coz Serie A needs another big club, and Palermo could become that.

Obodo >>> Muntari so far this season, I totally rate Obodo.

Kaka has been brilliant in the CL, but even in Serie A, he has been among the top 3 midfielders this season (along with Stan and De Rossi).

I guess once Toni comes back from injury, he will regain his place as the main striker... or Crespo will start scoring dozens soon... else, that spot may go to Julio "The Gardener" Cruz, who is on FIRE!!!

I like the sound of this, however unlikely this may sound - we need a heir for Figo anyways Smile

    Adriano-Messi exchange? Saturday 11 November, 2006

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Today’s Italian newspapers claim Inter will offer Adriano to Barcelona in part-exchange for Lionel Messi.

Nerazzurri patron Massimo Moratti has always had a soft spot for the 19-year-old Argentine creative midfielder and believes this is the right time to make a serious bid.

With Adriano not scoring for the club since March and his period of rest and recuperation in Rio de Janeiro a last resort, L’Imperatore could be moving on as early as January.

A summer departure is more likely and it’s claimed in today’s ‘Corriere dello Sport’ newspaper that he will be used as bait to lure Messi away from Barcelona, cutting his £60m price-tag considerably.

Leo Messi started his career at Newell’s Old Boys in Argentina, moving across to Barca at the tender age of 13.

He made his first team debut in a friendly against Porto in 2003-04, still only 16, and was later voted Player of the Tournament in Argentina’s Under-20 World Cup triumph in Holland.

Out injured for much of last season, Messi’s future is intertwined with that of another San Siro outfit – Milan.

Barca would only be ready to release the Argentine talent if they resisted the Rossoneri’s attempts to sign Ronaldinho.

Couldn't find a Serie B thread, so I post this here.

What's your guys assessment of Serie B this season?

    1. Juve (realistic)
2/3. Genoa (I hope, traditional club)
2/3. Napoli (I hope, fav Italian club)

Was delighted Napoli got a draw v Juve at Sao Paolo.

I think there is no doubt anymore on the top spot - Juve will finish top, and it will be good to see them in Serie A again.

I would love it if some traditioinal clubs like Genoa/Napoli/Bologna make it to Serie A... specially Genoa, the fallen gaints. Coz these clubs have big fan followings even now, and it will only add to the excitement of Serie A...
