No. Emre, Parker, N'Zogbia, and Milner. You seriously think i'd drop one of them for Fletcher?!poiuy1 wrote:He could get in the Newcastle team now though despite what you said in the summer aye?

I don't think you're seeing this clearly Kimbo - you have your black and white specs on

See, you lot don't have an argument here. "He's better because he is" , whatever. Also not ONCE have i said he's crap, i've said he's got potential, i just don't think he's anywhere near being a world beater like you lot.Tweedledum wrote:Kimbo wrote:Well he has no "technique" when it comes to actually doing something with the ball does he?! I'm not saying this because i'm biased, incase you haven't noticed i'm a big fan of King and Huddlestone, so it's not a Spurs thing.
@ lrd
I'll eat my arse the day Lennon produces an assist as perfect as this with his left foot.

Re: Chelsea eye up Lennon !
So Fletcher would do better under Roeder would he? Give me a break. We're where we are because we have some poor defenders and a shite manager, not because we don't have talented midfielders.poiuy1 wrote:Kimbo wrote:No. Emre, Parker, N'Zogbia, and Milner. I seriously think he would be an improvement, i'm not convinced by Emre the problem for me stems from the choice of fowards and someone with ability to pick them out

Fletcher is better than Solano but not better than Milner or Zog.
@ kimbo
I'm a big Zog fan but he lacks the pace of Lennon, lacks the dribbling, lacks the agility - lacks the impact!
Whenever Lennon gets on the ball you can see the panic in the fullbacks eyes

No, no, and no.
Fletcher > Solano, maybe, Solano is nearing the end of his career and is/or should be more of a squad player.
In his prime though...

But i've seen N'Zogbia leave defenders for dead, i've even seen him take on 3/4 defenders before slotting it in the bottom corner. Has Lennon ever done that?Tweedledum wrote:Parks Lives wrote:Fletcher > Milner

Well like i said N'Zogbia got 6 goals and 8 assits while playing for a poor team, and Milner was one of the highest assisters in the league the season he was at Villa.Parks Lives wrote:Tweedledum wrote:Parks Lives wrote:Fletcher > Milner

Re: Chelsea eye up Lennon !
This thread has been fun to read.
Essentially...
* Chelsea would be stupid to buy him, he'd be stupid to go there
* He's a better prospect than SWP, not really on footballing ability but because he's actually played in the last two years
* He needs to work on his end product, but his balance, agility, ability to turn at pace and his running and movement are all good for his age. If he makes the right improvements then he'll be a very good player. Has a better touch than SWP, that's true.
* Most people here want him in their teams
I like the lad, but calling him the second best winger in the league is bizarre. He's a good prospect, whereas SWP was a good prospect but has stagnated without regular football, somewhat predictably. With Robben, Kalou, Cole, Drogba and Shevchenko ahead of him he's got no chance. He should ask for a transfer as soon as possible.
Lennon is probably at the right club for him at this stage in his career. He'll get plenty of games, Spurs are an attacking, competitive side. He should get some UEFA cup experience. A move right now might cost him dearly.

Re: Chelsea eye up Lennon !
* laughs at people saying lennon is only a pace merchant*
Do u guys really watch the boy play? He is not the best crosser but i have seen him put decent crosses in in every game i have seen him play in this season. And for the type of player he is, he doesn't need to be the best crosser of the ball, do u see messi putting crosses in? no, well that's the same sorts of player he is. He has that same trickery in him that u see in messi. As i said some time ago, he doesn't need to improve his crossing as most people here suggest, he needs to improve his finishing and awareness in the final third and that's what seperate him currently with messi; pace, trickery, awareness and good finishing that's what causes the havoc for the sorts of players.
on topic; the best move for him would either Manu or arsenal, he shouldn't go to chelsea at all.

@ saints
there has been a lot of overhype by certain people, essentially though you are right. The fee that Chelsea would have to pay for him is far above what he is actually worth, one thing I do believe though is that he will be an England reg for the next 10 years, even if he loses his pace

Re: Chelsea eye up Lennon !
Well, a lot depends on how McClaren, and whichever incompetent moron is appointed after him, want to set up their teams. Lennon is a great impact player for England, particularly given that Gerrard can move around the midfield to leave open the right hand side. But pressure brings out the worst in Steve, and I see his teams getting more and more conservative as time marches on.

I did say average.
Pennant kept Lennon out of the first team at Leeds partly because I think Lennon was 15 at the time
Sinama Pongolle is better than all of them. Easy. 3 goals already this season and I don't think he's even made that many starts...
