    Looks right to me.

    It's a strange table. Spain has 6 of the top 10, but also 8 of the bottom 10, whilst the EPL teams are closer together (although this is no. of wins, not points).

    Does that mean that, although the top Spanish teams might have the advantage over the top english teams (excluding United and Chelsea), there is a huge difference in class between La Liga (almost like a Premiership and Championship rolled into one), whilst in the Prem, excluding the top 2, it's a much tighter league, where any team can beat anybody?

    Well, Spain is actually like that. Look at our predictions scores - impossible to get high scores week in week out. England is a bit like that this year, but was quite predictable last year.

    And while England will spread out as the season goes on (usually does, maybe not so much this time around), Spain will stay tight. I remember at one point in March/April of last season there were about 3 or 4 points between 4th and 9th place, and then another 4-6 pts separating 11th to 18th.

    Lets try to create a mix league and then see which teams do you think will be there rather then comparing teams in current positions.

    I think the gap between Primera and Segunda in Spain is much smaller. Each season you get a promoted team that does really well; Recreativo, Getafe, Celta

    But then you have Reading this year, last year also West Ham and Wigan did excellently, and I think recently (can't remember which season, maybe Bolton, Fulham, West Brom?) all 3 promoted sides have stayed up in England.

    But where will they be in the following seasons? Getafe are still riding high after 3 years and I expect Recre will do the same next year.

    @s4p
    well you cant do stats like that and conclude on them because right now they show form plus some quality. it would be best to look at them at the end. something that i have noticed is however that arsenal has had a bad season up till now yet they are still nr 3. despite having gone through a bad bunch of games where they have gotten 4 points in the last 4 games yet the lie in 3. place. liverpool have lost 5 times already yet are on 5 place. so this might prove that everybody beats everybody. but for my it seems that is more the case because of lack of quality. man utd and chelsea have lost a combined of 3 so it only really cost with the bad teams and the teams out of form this season (arsenal,liverpool).

    I know, I did say it didn't mean much.

    It was just a comparison of team's starts to the season and the starts to the league in general.

    I tried to do it based on points, but as La Liga teams have only played 13 games, it was a bit difficult

    Hmm possibly. I'm not sure if segunda footbal is better quality however. It tends to be very entertaining but some of the defending is shit. The Championship also has a few big players ie: Johnson, Ashton etc last year....Kamara, Phillips, Forsell this year, which you don't tend to find so much in the segunda.

    I think teams promoted tend to adapt better as the style of football is similar in the segunda and primera. Whereas in England it is often very different.
