I know, and hopefully the DM signing we make this summer will bring that physicality. I don't see us signing another creative/attacking midfielder though, at least not till Deco retires. By then Diego should be ready Twisted Evil

Anyway, I'll stop hijacking the Chelsea thread.

I actually think Lampard would do OK in a Spain and certainly in a side like Barcelona, where he'd probably pick up 30+ goals a season.

However, would he be a first teamer? I doubt it...

If Jose goes to Madrid (god I hope he doesn't) then I can see Frank going there.

All in the space of 2 weeks. Yikes

Would be something spectacular. I think we'd probably win the league match (with it being at the Bridge), but the other 2 would be too close to call.

3 away games inside a week means some serious rotation is gonna have to be used by Jose.

They're all extremely difficult in their own way, but are also 3 winnable games. Blackburn in the semis will be a tough opposition to break down, but having already beaten them 3 times this season (twice at Ewood Park) scoring 7 and conceding 0, I fancy our chances. 15/04.

West Ham is another very difficult opponent. Local rival and full of confidence. But in desperate need of points to keep the title race alive, we should win there. 18/04.

Newcastle is the final one. They're a side who are exteremely difficult to beat at St James', and have held both United and Arsenal, as well as beating Liverpool at St James'. Again, only the fact that 3 points is a must will see us through imo. 22/04/

These are the 3 teams I'd like to see Jose play:

    Blackburn:

    -----------------Cech--------------
    Diarra--Carvalho--Terry--Bridge
    ---------------Makelele------------
    -------Essien-----------Lampard--
    ----------------Ballack-------------
    ----------Drogba-Shevchenko----

    West Ham:

    ------------------Cech---------------
    Geremi--Carvalho--Terry--A Cole
    -----------------Essien---------------
    ----------Ballack------Lampard-----
    Joe Cole--------Drogba-------Kalou

    Newcastle:

    -----------------Cech---------------
    Diarra--Carvalho--Terry--A Cole
    -----------------Mikel---------------
    ---------Essien-------Lampard-----
    ----------------Ballack--------------
    ------------Drogba-Sheva----------

What do you people think of Mikel? Is it rightfully deserved that he's now been starting the last games eh? Smile

Well, he was sure good in Norway. But there's a way higher level in England, and I'm jsut happy for him when I see him out there. He's an hard ass, but he has made some stupid/uncareful decisions that I would have thought Mourinho would punish him for Razz silent

That is a tough run of fixtures for Chelsea. Liverpool, Bolton, Liverpool, Arsenal, Man Utd in a row and within a space of roughly two weeks will be a huge test of Chelsea's squad.

Yeah very tough, although Bolton do tend to just roll over at the Bridge.

West Ham is a tough local derby.
Newcastle are difficult to beat at St James'.
Liverpool is the semi final of a Champions League.
Arsenal are out of form, but still difficult to beat.
United are on course for the title.
    Everton will be no pushover.

Mind you, our run of form at the moment is terrific. 15 wins and 3 draws in the last 18 games. Out of those 9 games, I'm hoping for at least 7 wins, and I think we're more than capable of achieving that.

Swapping a central defender whose skills can be more easily replaced than the genetic attributes of a swift fullback, was a very shrewd manoeuvre by Jose Mourinho.

After all, Wayne Bridge is, in my opinion, a very competent left-back who is entirely adequate for most encounters with attacking opponents. Ashley Cole is Chelsea’s indemnity against contingencies involving players who necessarily have an inherent physiological and anatomical advantage over Bridge.

    Brilliant strategizing by Mourinho.
