I'm not just suprised you are so high up, I'm suprised Inter and Barca are as well.

AC Milan are the dons of the CL.

We were in the UEFA Cup in the 2003/2004 season, lost against Celtic in the Second Round.

You were in the UEFA Cup in 2002/2003 right? I think Newcastle Utd were in it that year.

I am surprised we are still that high up to be honest. We need a good year to remain there thats for sure.

What a consistant team AC Milan are. Yikes

    ok

And to make matters worse, we got knocked out in the 2nd round of the UEFA Cup Yikes

And if we take out that season, and look at the last 4 seasons (03-04/04-05/05-06/06-07 pre-final), the top 8 are:

    1. AC Milan 100.458
    2. Chelsea 94.098
    3. Liverpool 92.098
    4. Barcelona 88.164
    5. Arsenal 87.098
    6. Lyon 85.094
    7. Sevilla 81.164

Looks like Sidwell should be signing for us within the next week. If he does, that pretty much gives JM 3 separate midfields to use, which'll be handy when injuries start to mount:

    ----------Mikel-------------
    Essien-----------Lampard
    ---------Ballack------------

    ----------Makelele----------
    J Cole--------------Robben

    -----------Diarra-----------
    SWP----------------Sidwell

We're also apparently in the hunt for Mcarthy, as Shevchenko is on his way back to Milan for 15€ Million. So we bring in Mcarthy, who has already proven himself at Jose's level. Play alongside Didier?

Yes I think it should be based on the previous three years. Five years is ancient history in football terms. Just watched the Derby vs Southampton match. Hope Derby don't get into the Prem. We could do without another bunch of cloggers to contribute to our injury list.

We need someone quick and nippy who will feed off Drogba. Someone like Michael Owen but not Michael Owen because he will be injured after five minutes.

    Mourinho on Sheva:

...he said that he shouldn't be happy with his performances but defended Ballack's Rolling Eyes

After all, according to Mourinho, he scored "the goal that took us to the F.A. Cup final and the goal that put us in the Champions League semi final"

It seems like, in Jose's mind, Sheva's goals have now become Ballack's - he's that blinkered.

oh stop being so ridiculously pro-Sheva. I was (still am) a massive fan of his, but this season he has really not been good enough. The problem is not his scoring or the money we spent, it's that has basic play itself has regularly been very poor. I am not talking about particularly massive things - just stuff like controlling the ball properly has seemed beyond him all too frequently given his quality (see CCup final). Yes it's partially down to José using him incorrectly and partially down to MFs like Ballack and Lampard not being selfless enough. However, the man himself must take some of the blame. I hope its just acclimatisation problems - I certainly want him here next season.

Ballack hasn't been great either, but he has worked a hell of a lot harder for the team which, like it or not, lessens the problem. He scored important goals vs Porto and Blackburn (where Sheva made a ridiculous miss). I do give credit to Sheva for scoring the 2 away goals in the KO stages however. ok

All said and done - we actually play a lot better with these two than without them.

After all, Essien scored the goal that took us to the SF.

What goes around comes around proved true again - although the "did it cross the line" incident arguably was evened out today, you guys have really set yourselves up for a lot of disappointments over coming seasons, with the no. of last 5 minutes goals you've scored in this one season!

Did it cross the line ??

Surely if it did the only reason was because Cech was pushed in when he had control of the ball ?!

I dunno, haven't seen any replays.

BTW please tell me how scoring late is anything to do with luck ?

Game is 90 + stoppages, 30 mins ET on special occasions...that's how long you have to play for and any goal in this time period is surely equally valid.
